If ESPN has A, B, C (etc) teams, i kept telling everyone in the house that this was the L team. And it isnt just announcers. The lack of replays was stunning. And to show highlights of '97 and not Include the last drive was just insane.
ugh....she was what they had in mind when they invented the mute button!..She's knowledgeable but her voice is like nails on a chalkboard, or a bag of cats against a wall..take your pick.
I would not call them completely homer, but there were uninterested in the game much of the time, and uninteresting when they paid attention to the game.
Yep the two announcers tonight were the pits. I mean they were awful with the usual cliche's and game a game perspective that showed a complete lack of awareness of the Gators, their history, their legacy, and most of all one that would relate to the Gator Nation fan base. Just drive by announcers who only have notes prepared by some staffer to get them along in the game. I'm listing to the replay here and they ARE god awful. As a listener to Sean Kelly and Shane Matthews I want to add Sean Kelly is no catch. Shane Matthews makes it bearable as he is really knowlegable and has good insight as a player and a Gator. Kelly is the pits. But hey, it who we have and even then they are better than the national guys.
I noticed they seemed happier to have their bonhomie banter repartee going even during important plays when a description of the action would have been expected. Who cares? I’ll watch the replay with Shane and Mick’s replacement.
Camera angles were terrible most of the night. Looks like the truck could not decide which shot to use and got caught changing live shots mid or beginning of the play. The worst produced game that I have ever watched.
I don’t expect to know every lower level play by play guy these days but I usually know all the color commentators. I had no idea who this ginger guy was and even now that I look him up I still don’t.
That was one of the worst, if not the worst gator broadcasts I have ever endured, they just talked about unrelated stuff during important live plays then made comments when the saw the replay, production and camera angles were abysmal as well! I don't know if they felt sorry for the noles or were homers but their take seemed quite slanted, they were cheering them to get back into the game, I have never heard of either of them! At the end of the day I guess it's like Airgator said, we are fortunate it was picked up considering the records I just wish I knew how to sync the WRUF radio broadcast!
How about Mowens and Tesitore on the call? I'd have to revert back to the Jets / Dolphins mute game for that.
