That’s pretty dumb, considering they (FSU) called the timeouts which extended the game. If they thought the game was over, they shouldn’t have stopped the clock with TO’s. I thought we’d run one more and kick, but technically that leaves it at a 2 score game (leaving the onside kick possibility). Being aggressive made it a 3 score game. Definitely the right call to just go for the TD on 3rd down to put it away.
I still think Napier runs out the clock or at least tries to, until Norvell decided to call all his TOs.
Exactly...Pyburn ran down and got one flag but was just running around in front of uf fans, the other flag got run out to midfield in a flash. After the team sang the alma mater some guys started to head back out to midfield and Stricklin shut it down immediately
I have absolutely no problem with a team planting their flag on an opponents field. I also have no problem with the other teams players defending their turf. I’m entertained regardless.
Now I hope more than ever we flip Solomon Thomas because of their coach's loss of memory how they acted on our field. This would be Billy's answer to all the complaining after the game.
Similar incident over flag planting in the NC ST-NC game also. These are heated/hated rivalry games, this stuff is gonna happen. Want to prevent it, win on your home field, simple as that.
