Coach Golden now has some vid for the players to watch. I'd hate to be at the next practice after that finish.:mad::mad:

What's there to say. Sheesh. So much fun.

On the Klavzar front - I'd like to see TFG continue to work him in when he can. I've wathced enough footage of Urban to know what he's capable of. He showed a bit of it on that step back bucket today. He's a mini Doncic.

I've noticed coach puts him in when he thinks we need an offensive spark. I hope he can get to be that player for us.

Plus, the 13 yo Madrid super-fan I have in the house is rooting for him with every possession. Claims he's the best on the team. lol.

I'm old enough to have watched Vinnie.

Yes - that's the role, with a Luka flavor. If that comes to fruition - that would be yet another huge advantage for this team.

Can't believe I got two dislikes for this, lol. They must not have been in the game thread.

Yes, and he really needs to bulk up and hopefully gain 4-6” in height before he has a chance to play next year.

Agree, he almost had a double double plus 3 assists and 2-3 steals too before the HALF

he needs a year to really work on his mobility. Today's game is much more about pace and space than decades ago, where you could play a 7'9 (ok that never happened but) guy and expect him to do well based on his size alone, because everyone was packing the paint on D and trying to get to the rim on O. He seems to have made big strides in his mobility, so by next year we could potentially see him in the rotation. He has also historically struggled with conditioning given his size, so was only able to play in short bursts - so even if in the rotation next year it would likely be 3-4 min at a time, so maybe 6-8 minutes a game. By the time he's a redshirt sophomore we could see him start to play 15-20 mins a game.

Imagine any kid that goes through a major growth spurt trying to get used to his body - then imagine being almost 8 feet tall and trying to keep up with lightning fast players. He has his work cut out for him but is a great kid, hard worker, positive and has some of the best in the business training him and coaching him to be better. By his junior and senior year who knows, we could have a Edey type player on our hands. Until then, patience is key.

There will be at least one game this season where Klavzar is top scorer and MVG. He has that ability to go on a scoring tear. Unnoticed last night was some very nice passing by him, by the way.

Watch a recording if you can; our descriptions of the beatdown don't do it justice. We were absolute FIRE on both ends of the court.

We sat all our starters around the 13 min mark, for the rest of the game, up 38. At the 7 min mark, we were still up around the same amount. Brown and Denzel put up some buckets.

It wasn't until #12/13/14 on the bench went in that things turned. 14 players recorded a stat. Just nuts.

The 11-0 opponent run against our reserves can be a teaching moment..but I sincerely doubt that the team will be physically chastised for some kind of breakdown. Instructed? Definitely. Using reserves as a whipping boy? Counterproductive.

Our defense was as impressive as I’ve seen in years. We were completely cohesive, either fighting through screens or seamless on the switch. Our length disrupted them, but we also did an AMAZING job keep ourselves between the man and the basket. We filled the gaps so quickly, gave them nothing to work with. Then on the offensive end when we’re out in transition and hitting 3s we’re at our best. Add defense like that and offense like it was and you end up with scores of 70-29 and 84-36 over a #75 team. It was beyond impressive. We need to play like that vs Virginia (we owe them) and then UNC

Interestingly it was 11 points in 1:05, after allowing 40 points in 58:35. I don’t think coach is going to lose any sleep over it

And he wasn't that much of a defensive liability. He got cooked once, but mostly stayed in front of his man. Struggled on a sceen....

    I hope you're right!
