Mullen would need an "army" of recruiters to make that happen. The universities all know that he's a lazy recruiter.
pfft his classes were fine, and he can do more with less. It’s the old X’s and O’s vs Jimmys and Joes argument. Harken back to SOS days he wasn’t some hard working recruiting beast, as I recall he really didn’t like it much. Hated going into living rooms kissing ass of some recruit’s momma.
He gave up (QUIT) on the Gator football team and football program... and that is unforgivable. That's as nice as I can be about him.
Meh, there was so much hate to him at the end I don’t blame him. He should have canned Grantham a full year before. When he did the D quit (see at USCe). Only so much you can do. It’s like when you know the GF has one for out the door.
If you look at ranking yes. Recruiting is about depth not just stars and national rankings. He was woefully inefficient at recruiting depth in the trenches. That is where the game is won in the SEC. He was a lazy recruiter.
Yet his record in terms of win % is like 3rd for UF, even considering the last season when the team quit after Grantham got canned. Just proof he could do more with less. Don’t forget Covid hosed UF into arguably 2-3 less wins that were losses. We had FSu get dropped and picked up TAAM in 2020, plus the Lsu game got moved to the end of the season.
