Lol... you were doing so well until you dropped shade on Elon. Elon is millions of times better than the deep state that had original control his site.

He single-handedly preserved our Constitutional First Amendment Rights on his site. He gave back our voice against uncontrolled tyranny of the deep-state alphabet agencies that were killing free speech, by canceling Right leaning voices.

If Musk is claiming that X owns the Infowars Twitter account wouldn't that make X liable for it's disinformation? I thought for years the social media argument was they weren't "publishers" and thus not responsible for the content. Not that X will get in trouble under an Trump admin, but it seems to undermine the long standing argument of aggregaters

Good point, they do have an exemption under the law that they are not responsible for their user’s content, but claiming to own the accounts might give someone an avenue to sue Twitter directly, should he win that argument in court. Seems like you can’t have it both ways.

So Bluesky just banned the "Libs of TikTok" and right wing hate account that targets marginalized communities with glee.

Bluesky up to 24M users and growing vs Twitters 400M and shrinking.

Up 3M more users to 24M since this thread was started.

As of December 11, 2024, Bluesky has experienced significant growth, surpassing 24 million users. Wired

In contrast, Truth Social's user base is considerably smaller, with approximately 2 million active users. Search Logistics

Bluesky's rapid expansion is attributed to users seeking alternatives to platforms like X (formerly Twitter), especially following the U.S. presidential election. The platform's decentralized nature and customizable user experience have attracted a diverse audience, including celebrities and various communities. Barron's

In summary, Bluesky's user base is over ten times larger than that of Truth Social, reflecting differing user adoption rates and platform appeal.

There is speculation that Elon Musk will be buying Truth Social and merging the platform into X/Twitter, not so much because it's a sound business decision but to further ingratiate himself with Donald Trump.
Could an X and Truth Social merger be in the works?

I mean realistically basically nothing would change on the social media side. It's just Elon transferring money to Trump.

This. I am guessing this is his goal: user generated non-paid content for a monetized LLM. He’s two steps ahead of the people who think he gives a crap about “free speech”. He throttles unpaid content when he can’t make money off of copyright content.

To be fair, buying a country requires a lot of money.
