The funny thing about the three schools he is looking at is that Napier might be the most secure coach of the bunch.

 

I believe a Gator win this Saturday cements the deal for us.

 

If he feels like that, then commit and help recruit others to win a championship.

 

Personally I think UF, the Collective, CBN, the Boosters, need to go ahead and "Call" and shove ALL the CHIPS (BAGS) into the middle of the table to aquire as many studs as possible this cycle both in HS and the portal.

Why?

1) CBN is staying
2) Florida has an emerging "Youth" player development movement that is finally starting to show itself under CBN
3) DJL - Probably the most imporant reason. If UF is lucky we keep this kid 2 more years. UF needs to surround him with as much talent as possible to make playoff runs in 25 and 26.

Yep, we have a 2 year window and need to make a run. Hopefully, they will go all in. DJL is a talent that doesn't come along very often.

 

Man, I hope someone does a podcast with these talking points. Otherwise, how will anyone know what to do?

 

I feel the same way to a point Head, but let’s not forget the team chemistry factor that is a huge part of how our team has gelled and rebounded in recent weeks. Any recruit who has created the impression of looking for the biggest bag pops up a flag for me. In his player selections and the criteria he uses for identifying his targets, Billy has established a team ethic that any coaching staff would envy. It should never be taken for granted, and it also must be maintained continuously and relentlessly. No player is worth disrupting the character of this team.

Yeah, what I heard was they passed the hat for the Napier buyout and when he turned it around they decided to repurpose the money for NIL.

First order of business is to keep the talent we already have and then sign the high school kids... But we have to already know why we're getting from the portal.

We cannot be left behind in getting some of the great talent that will enter the portal this next week. I wonder what's going on in the part of our recruiting. I just hope we've been talking to moms and dads behind the scenes for a while...

 

I dont know how much money they have and how they will chose to spend it but now looks like the time to go all in. You dont get qbs like this too often. There no guarantees but its a good shot to take.

 

A monumental job managing recruiting in these times. Keeping the roster we have, and building from the bottom up via high school relationships is the most sustainable and stable strategy. Hit the portal where you have to fill holes, but pass on the highest bidder mercenaries.

Push those Chips in UF, beat FSU, put some very fine bags on the table and let's upgrade, look, sadly UF is losing our stud transfer receivers, but Billy and the staff have proven to have an excellent eye for transfer portal players at the receiving positions. Still hope at least one of the 5 star receivers on UFs HS board accepts UFs package.

I'm fired up for FSU, the conclusion of ESD, and finding out what Bowl the Gators play in.
