It will be tough to watch the deportation efforts. The media will have alternative facts on the reporting. Echo chambers will focus on Trump admin wins or errors, respectively, with limited facts of who and why on the deportation. Not holding my breath on fact based reporting, on both sides.

The "kids in cages" during the Obama administration were unaccompanied minors primarily teens who were held in those facilities for a very short period time before being released to relatives in the US or transferred to long term care facilities, not quite the same as the young children in some cases toddlers under the age of two separated from their parents under Stephen Miller's directive during the first Trump Administration.

The weird thing is that after you just accurately described the facts, which has to have happened several hundred times by now on this forum alone....

.....some Trump supporter will tell the same lie about this again.

And not a one of them will be concerned with reality.

    Strange times we live in....

I’m sure that Trump’s economic advisors are telling him that mass-deportation will destroy the economy and he’s going to do it anyway.

LOL. Love the effort! You will literally carry the Dem's water til the grave! That is some next level rationalizing there. I know you don't believe what you are saying, but good try.

Apparently you're so up Trump's rear end that you willingly dismiss real distinctions.

It's a waste of time. He's not here for any real discussion. He's just here to troll liberals.

Weird that he didn't bother to read the posted article about this.

It's like some people try to not know things.

So if you are “primarily a teen” it’s okay for Obama to put you in a cage?

And now separating young kids for their parents isn’t good, trouble was there was concern that they weren’t really their parents and being sex trafficked.

Not OK but there is a huge difference between holding teens in those facilities for a couple of days after which they would be sent to longer term facilities, to relatives in the US or possibly deported to their home countries and forcibly separating young children from their parents.

Holding kids in cages for short periods of time appears to be okay since well, it was under Obama? How long were they in there? Or did you mean something else?

Why were the minors separated from the “parents”? Were they really their kids? What if they were being trafficked? If they would have been merely unaccompanied minors, would putting them in cages have been acceptable under your standard under the other guy?

Kids, hell anyone in cages is very ugly just because they cross the border but as long as it’s “your” guy it’s okay? The only people belonging in cages are criminals.

The logic, justifications and mental gymnastics around here at times is one for the researchers to study.

oh please, the parents knew the risk
NYC is dealing with a huge problem in the Roosevelt Hotel where a huge number of minor children are there with NO adult
the kids have to go to and I am confident it will be done humanely,. even thought the lib media will try to make it look bad and you libs will believe anything they put in print
and the sooner we start getting ALL the illegals out the better

Mayors and guvners who try to prevent this from happening are committing treason and should be put in jail

Lol, those were kids who arrived without an adult. There didn't exist immediate facilities for them. You do sort of.....see a difference between that and Trump deliberately separating children from their parents as a deterrent?

    Small difference? :)

It's like the Trump supporters are making the most strenuous effort possible to....not know anything about this. Fascinating, really.

I guess the Biden administration losing track of over 300,000 unaccompanied minors is the new standard for quality care?

The Details: “As of May 2024, ICE had not served [court dates to] more than 291,000 UCs who therefore do not yet have an immigration court date,” the report states. There are also 32,000 children who didn’t attend their court dates issued by ICE.

For Context: According to the report, from fiscal years 2019 to 2023, 448,000 children were transferred from ICE to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
