Yep, just because this particular war is a bad idea doesn't mean the U.S. is getting everything wrong. Our military tech better be much superior to the Russians, considering our budget. I am more concerned with their hypersonic capabilities, but less so than I am China's capabilities in that area. I think even Russia, Putin understands their tech is vastly inferior, which is why they threaten nuclear retaliation every other day of the week. I also believe they understood the gamble that was going into Ukraine, but in their minds, it's a red line and so here we are.

Ukrainian strikes intensify with secret UK missile supply

Ukraine may possess a larger number of Western missiles, which it can use to conduct strikes deep into Russia. According to Bloomberg, citing its sources, Kyiv is believed to have received a new batch of conventional, tactical, long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles from the United Kingdom.

This is reportedly the first such transfer since Keir Starmer assumed the position of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. A few weeks ago, the deliveries of Storm Shadow missiles, which were not publicly disclosed, were conducted. The exact number of missiles involved is unknown. However, Bloomberg notes that the transfer happened before the United States and the United Kingdom announced permission for long-range weapon attacks deep into Russian territory. According to the service, the British Ministry of Defense declined to comment on these reports for security reasons.

The additional Storm Shadow missiles—conventional, tactical long-range cruise missiles carried by aircraft with low detectability—may significantly strengthen Ukraine. Kyiv has already conducted its first attack on Russian territory using this weapon. As reported by Reuters, this occurred on November 20, at around 6:00 PM Eastern Time. Ukraine reportedly launched around 10 Storm Shadow cruise missiles towards Russia. Social media even showed photos of alleged remains of Western missiles.

Storm Shadow, weighing about 2,866 pounds and measuring 16 feet 9 inches long, is designed for effective attacks on strategic targets, such as air bases, communication centers, ports, or underground facilities. Equipped with a BROACH warhead weighing about 992 pounds, the missile can penetrate even 7-13 feet of reinforced concrete. Thanks to the Turbomeca Microturbo TRI 60-30 turbojet engine (with 1,215 pounds of thrust), it can reach speeds of 621 mph and hit targets at a range of 155 to 248 miles, regardless of weather conditions or time of day.

 

The S-400's performance, Russia's premier Air Defense system, is making your claims look foolish. If the Russian technology is so good, how come it cannot do what the Iron Dome is doing in Israeli when it comes to intercepting rockets and missiles?

He added: "IronNet has their Iron Dome capability, which would then be applied to the Astrion counter-UAS ecosystem to give it cyber protection, which is critically important for them to be able to operate in what we would call a 'denied environment' because I can promise you that one of the attacks that would happen to disrupt the counter-UAS system would be a cyberattack in advance, perhaps, of the drone launch.

"We have shared this capability of both IronNet and Astrion with different leaders in Ukraine that are on the front line. And I will tell you the feedback we got is how fast can you get this capability here? And that came from people that are actually executing in the front lines at a very high level. "So we took that with a great deal of confidence that this would be a game changer in Ukraine. Our intention is to bring this collaborative partnership to Ukraine."

All those rankings are at least 12 months old and have been overtaken by events. The S-400 has sh*t the bed on the battlefield over the last 12 months. But keep trying.
