A significant percentage of Trump's voters didn't vote for him because he was innocent of the charges. They voted for him because they perceived that he could fix the economy and what they also perceived was a crisis at the border. In other words they may have reasoned that although he was a felon the other issues took precedence over his personal behavior. You're correct although for a different reason. While it probably is time to move along since as the de facto King with the divine right to commit crimes his past behavior has become irrelevant.

delaying the truth coming out is one big reason he won..they are celebrating being lied to and assisting in putting a criminal of the highest order back in office

do they really think he is going to do anything to help them? do you think that is a reasonable thought? seriously? musk is his hero, fire them all. slumlord is his occupation, higher rents are better rents, never met a monopoly he didn't like, deregulation for the banking industry..you wonder why financials shot up after the election? because they are going to return money to those 79% trumpies living paycheck to paycheck? you funny. they have no understanding of what they have chosen.

without the trials, they ahd reasonable doubt to wonder if he was guilty and if the charges were really that serious. goes to court, they learn about trump sharing the nuclear capacity of the us subs and sensitive intel on israeli nuclear secrets with an ozzie billionaire and the number of ops that had to be cancelled due to compromised info and maybe they put more weight ont he charges. They hear the evidence that the J6 committee did, maybe they feel differently after convictions in both of those cases. the overwhelming majority of voters are relatively ignorant on the stark facts of both cases.

J6 was so bad that Jared and Ivanka said I'm out and split. Same for Melania who sticks around for the benefits as any good Only Fans gold digging model would. Electorate generally ignorant to his role in it and details of it

I’m not even convinced it was the economy per se. By most metrics the economy is doing very well. However, if you look at national elections worldwide the incumbent parties lost almost every election. The worldwide populace didn’t take the COVID effects well and thought a change was in order.

From my understanding, after the jurors and alternates are selected, they have to get security clearances up to the level of evidence that will be submitted. That is not a fast process and Smith should have known that would likely prevent him from getting to trial before the election.

Let's comb through the emails, office memos, texts and all other forms of communication (well, the ones that Merrick Garland hasn't destroyed anyway--can't check what no longer exists... )-and let prosecution issue forthwith, if warranted.

Of course I'm not too optimistic here--Garland presumably has a firm grasp of what needed destroying...

    1. "Americans are too stupid to know the economy was good" was somehow not particularly persuasive (something about an economy propped by debt spending somehow just doesn't make the dinner table...go figure....)

    2. "...didn't like the Covid effects"??? LMAO--here, let me spell that one out for you too--ppl realized they had been played, and were disgusted by the government overcreach. And therefore the toilet needed to be flushed.

Credit to @Contra for making this point.

A jury of 150 million decided Trump’s case in early November. I’m sorry democracy happened to you.

I’m sure when Trump’s DOJ prosecutes some Democrats, the posters here will remain consistent and want the law to be enforced on anyone who violates it.

They won’t be crying about weaponization or retribution. The American people just showed how much credibility the fear mongers with respect to Trump have with them.

Various reasons. Eg, with every. Single. New. Indictment--his poll numbers went up.

And weather or not trump can or will fix the economy was secondary by whom and how it got @#%^,'da up. Well, at least to the popular majority who were apparently too stupid to realize how stinking rich they got under Doh! Biden n sKamala.

Either way, the net result was the one undeniable common denominator message to the Dummyrat party:

    You. Suck.

To ignorant people, yes indeed. And people amoral enough to vote for an un-American sexual assaulting criminal.

LOL. Trying to remember what your guy instantly did to the deficit (and debt) upon taking office 8 years ago. I guess it's more comfortable in an alternate reality. :)

I agree. 50% of the Country saw it as irrelevant and voted for him for whatever reason. Smith and Garland will go down as weak and feckless or the ones that saved the Country from a bitter division by dragging their feet. We all just have to hope for the best for Trump and see if his agenda is bluster or gang busters.

he’s got two years before the mid-terms. He’s going to spend a significant time during his presidency just trying to make it through the 4 years. He’s a lame duck on day one now that the entire Republican Party can ignore him without great fear of losing their seat.
