Pre-Game Discussion: FSU week!!!

Any news on Aaron Gates this morning? It would be nice to not be down a starting DB against the nolies.

It's a rivalry game and I assume it'll be senior day for them, so they may have some motivation there. Regardless, if we don't rest on our laurels and play like we've been playing, we should be feeling comfortable about the game by the 3rd quarter.

 

I hope a healthy Lagway gets to observe the fourth quarter from the sideline while basking in a blowout win. I would love to see Warner pass for 150 and two scores in mop-up duty.

 

What I find interesting is that the total is 46.5, which means they're projecting UF to win with a score in the neighborhood of 30-17... Here's the list of games this season where FSU has scored 17 or more points:

GT (21) - way back on August 24 in Ireland
Charleston Southern (41) - yesterday

And FSU played some not stellar defenses in between. I will be quite disappointed if UF lets FSU get to 17 points next Saturday

When I checked yesterday the line was -5.5 UF.

 

ESPN FPI has us as 83% likely to win. Of course Ole Miss was 79% I think.

I wish I could find some advanced stats adjusted for schedule strength for FSU's defense, especially run defense.

Part of me wants to sit Lagway with big 4th quarter lead, and run Montrell at wildcat for a whole drive. "We're going to road grader you and there's nothing you can do about it." Convince some OL out there to hit the portal and come here.

 

Speaking of which . . . and, again, this is premature to discuss now fully but someone will remind me this way . . . we have some potentially good news as I understand it for our O-Line.

Also, as far as next Saturday, I don't believe our kids will be as arrogant as the players and coach coming from Oxford apparently were yesterday.

Wearing a Gator ski mask into the game to taunt -- like widdle Twavis wearing his Gator mouthpiece he somehow lost and Mama ETN got angwy about.

This is a despised rival and a game where we should want to win 70-0!

I can't see Coach Napier and his approach overlooking anyone. Listen to what Bryce Thornton said in the post-game press conference yesterday. That will be the team's attitude, IMO.

You can expect as lousy as fsu has been this year, it's a rivalry game and players will play with pride. This is their bowl game. Our team has to come prepared and hungry and not be filled with rat poison. I think we will be ready.

 

Hope fsu starts with tons of pride only to deflate when DJ bombs them back into the dark ages.
