It's not fair that Lane carries a grudge against UF because he can't seem to beat us, ever. After all, we saved him from having to go to that irksome SECCG he was so worried about. You're welcome, Lane.

 

On a personal level, it's unfortunate for him that he lost his composure and possibly damaged his NFL stock in the process. In time, he'll get past it. Dart does have talent, and he will get his shot in the league. But poise under extreme duress is the extra added ingredient that separates the greats from the merely talented - in CFB and in life. I personally think that OM thought they "had this one in the bag," coming into the game. The Gators thought otherwise. When OM got punched in the mouth, they basically spit out the bit as a team - with the game and their season on the line. Dart is a long way from being the only factor in that outcome.

 

How many times did we see Dart trying to block the crowd noise with his hands over the ear holes of his helmet? Lane can lie, but neither he nor Dart will ever forget that crowd- and this soul crushing LOSS.

Watching on replay often reminds me that the Swamp seems to get the part they play as the 12th man (old Army football fan and we called The Corps in little Michie Stadium “the 12th man a looong time ago). It is very quiet when our guys have the ball until the play snaps. Unlike many opponents, our fans stay loud the whole time between plays when the opponent is trying to get set for the next play. I’ve been to SEC venues filled with opposing fans that don’t play their part as we do.
