Since yesterday, I have read contradictory articles about whether she had a “husband” or merely a “partner” at the time. Either way, the guy was in the same hotel with her, and she slept in Hegseth’s room. I think I also read yesterday that the delay in reporting it to law enforcement was around five days, not fairly quickly, which is why there was no forensic evidence, the most significant of which would be her blood test for date-rape drugs. Still, even if his version of events is the one closest to the truth, he was willing to pay to keep it quiet, which is understandable given his profession. But it also means he’s probably not terribly excited to see her testify before the Senate, either. I think ultimately he will remove himself from consideration.

One commentator and it may have been Dave Aronberg suggested that Pam Bondi will be the second incarnation of Bill Barr. She will do whatever is necessary to accommodate Trump but she will not cross a line. Barr kissed Trump's ass during his term in office but he did refuse to prosecute Hillary Clinton as did Jeff Sessions nor did he go along with any of Trump's election denial stunts, the latter of which led to his (possibly forced) resignation.

It will be fun to see how she abandons her professionalism and degrades herself for the criminal Trump.

I think they're all "loyal" to themselves and their careers not some overarching "cause". But we'll see won't we?

Eh, I think Bondi will do much more for our dear leader than Bill Barr was ever willing to do. She has the skill and acumen of Barr, but she is MAGA to the core, unlike Barr.

Anyone remember Mike Nifong? He was the Durham County District Attorney who was disbarred for the frivolous prosecution of the Duke University Lacrosse players alleged to have committed sexual assualt against an exotic dancer hired to perform by the Lacrosse team at a party. An interesting question is if Pam Bondi tries similar stunts with frivolous prosecutions of Trump's perceived enemies at his request could she subject to similar sanctions by the Bar? If requested to prosecute members of the Biden family, Jack Smith or Alvin Bragg would she refuse like Sessions and Barr did when Trump asked them to file charges against Hillary Clinton?

So you're suggesting that unlike Barr she is totally devoid of any ethics?

The Attorney General of United States is supposed to be a cream of the crop lawyer. Instead, we are ending up with a mediocre lawyer with ethics issues. How unfortunate, but she looks good compared to Matt Gaetz.

I seldom come on too hot to post because I'm a conservative and most posters on here are too liberal for me. If you're more of a libertarian, then this reply should be a good place to say what I came to say. I also like most of your posts now on GC, as I have expressed several times.
Do you remember how every appointment Biden made had to have a big headline about DEI attached to it, resulting in some really weird characters running our government. I see a lot of diversity now, women, people of color, etc., but very little boasting about it by his transition team. I find that refreshing and how it should be naturally, how about you?

What diversity are your seeing, left and right handed?

(Note: Substitute while female Bondi for white male Gaetz.)

"Loyalty" isn't a bad word, Trump demands "fealty."

MAGA to the core means a set of ethics higher than all others.

If you don’t see it you are just being judgmental and wanting more DEI than is reality in today’s society! We have come a long way in diversity, yet many on the left want more without merit. Enough is enough!

This is just a really bad attempt at a joke, right?

The fact you have a dog murderer and a whale decapitator really doesn't count as "diverse." Maybe having brain worms does in your estimation?

Too bad there isn't a rating of "Funniest post of all time". The terms MAGA and ethics are truly mutually exclusive. Calling MAGA a high set of ethics is the equivalent calling idiocy the highest form of intellect.

If you want to see people getting jobs based on their race and not their merit you just need to look at Trump’s Cabinet picks.
