they voted against her and her unrelatable personality, her saying that she wouldn't have done anything differently, and her inability to convince people that the economy is not bad. she lost it much more than he won it. like saying we were the better team because we won even if the other team committed 8 fumbles on their 3 yard line. we won because they were so bad. same thing here

The choice was extremely clear and obvious. It was like picking between a ham sandwich and a steaming pile of dogshit. If you're saying if only the Dems had offered up filet mignon instead, they might have eeked out a win over the pile of dogshit, well I'm not going to blame the Dems for that. It's on the people who chose the dogshit.

The OEF withdraw was not inconsequential to the thousands of veterans that served there. The way you describe that is more than a little insulting to those of us that lost friends there. And there is a case to be made that how that withdraw happened, embolden Russia to invade Ukraine. If you are a Jew in America, it is very hard to say that the Oct 7th attacks have had " a very small" impact on their lives, ie the antisemitic protests on campus, as well as an increase of violence against Jews. Not sure where you live but the influx of illegal aliens is a major issue in most major cities. There is a murder that happened down the street from my house that is suspected to involve illegal aliens.

Inflation hit more working Americans harder than any other good economic news that came during Biden's term. You can keep trying to sell the idea that the Biden economy was good but Harris just lost the election due to it. That is what will be remembered.

FYI, 53% of Infrastructure funds are still unallocated as of this month. I cannot find how many of of the projects have been completed but I do not think it is a high percentage. Not sure what infrastructure I am suppose to be using.

Perfectly stated. Also, our electorate had, in addition to a bunch of shamefully value-less MAGAs, a shamefully ignorant electorate that was willing to buy Trump's laughable lies. Such as that the economy sucked. Or that Biden was bad on inflation. Those lies should have been simply laughed at, and any peddler of such lies scorned and ignored. Same with the border that Trump left as equally unfixed as Biden.

Amazing and shameful that such, and more, lies were tolerated. We'll get what we deserve.

Yeah, and to be fair, I do think many people voted against Harris/Democrats more than they voted for Trump. With that said, it's notable that Trump was not only able to take over the GOP in the first place (which many initially attributed to a crowded 2016 primary field) but that he subsequently got nominated two more times, including against formidable primary challengers in 2024. People have seen what the man is selling, and a lot of people apparently really like it.

Voting against her because of her "unrelatable personality" when Trump is the other option speaks volumes. The economy isn't bad. That is the truth. Inflation WAS bad, a couple years ago. She didn't commit a bunch of fumbles. She ran a professional campaign. Her strategy was sound. And she didn't have a bunch of gaffes. At the only debate the two of them had, she made him look the fool. She lost because enough Americans pined for the days of Trump. IMO, because people are stupid and forgot that Trump was President during our miserable year in 2020.

Especially when that filet mignon doesn't exist right now. There was no Obama this year. Maybe somebody emerges between now and 2028.

It is to informed rational people.

Apparently the electorate doesn't fit that description.

You have to know your audience. You aren't going to change their tastes so you better learn to either educate them or serve them something they prefer. Obviously they chose the pile of chit over the alternative offer. Until the dems understand why they will continue to struggle, even against pile of chit opponents

The withdrawal was set up by djt. Biden didn't have many options. Staff up and fight and prolong war or hope Afghan cover their exit, which they didn’t. What should they have done after the djt drawdown to 2500 and the release of the hardcore taluban fighters?

Biden could have scrapped that deal like every other thing that Trump did during his time in the WH. Plus, it the Biden Admin's execution of the withdraw that caused the domino's to start falling. The force cap that the Biden Admin imposed is what sealed the eventual outcome. Having some of the wrong people in places of military leadership did not help.

biden scraps deal, taliban launches massive attack that we cannot repel with 2500 troops spread out. what do you do? who is responsible for large loss of life from understaffed positions being overrun? the force cap was a deal cut by djt is my understanding. go beyond that, taliban could attack and we could staff back up again and have a full scale war again

The real answer is drag it out and try to kick the can down the road to the next President. Biden's mistake was actually doing something people have been demanding for years. He made multiple of those mistakes. He also passed a massive infrastructure bill. Our uninformed electorate doesn't reward accomplishments, unfortunately.

It's only a matter of time before Trump takes credit for infrastructure projects funded under Biden's infrastructure bill. Republicans who voted against the legislation have already done so.
They opposed the infrastructure law. Now, some in the GOP court its cash.
    And there is this.
House Speaker Johnson Walks Back Comment About Republicans Potentially Repealing CHIPS Act
It also wouldn't surprise me if Trump takes credit for semiconductor factories funded under the CHIPS and Science Act even after MAGA Mike threatened to repeal it.
Republicans cheer spending from bill they opposed — again

i always love it when I have people that have never served in Afghanistan try to explain how that conflict works to me. And that is not the force cap I was referring to. But please tell me more about your experience in OEF and what it was like to work for Frank McKenzie.

And democrats will fail to effectively counter the misinformation. Like how they let pubs paint them as castro style socialists.

I would rather you explain to me how we could have broken the deal and not been at risk of having positions overrun and restarting the whole war

I could but I don’t feel like writing a five paragraph post that I’m sure will get nitpicked to death.

BLUF: Biden wanted to end the war in ‘09 when he was VP. He was going to pull out of OEF once he became POTUS regardless of what Trump signed or did not sign. And that is not me saying that, it is in Bob Woodward’s new book War.

They can't explain that. It's all about Trump blaming someone for something and them seizing upon it because they're aggrieved.

Data point #495,467 on how shamefully unaware the American electorate is.

Data point #45,7433 on how Trump voters don't account for actual facts in order to debate with intellectual honesty.

    Why are you bothering?
