That is what makes a running QB so valuable.

Taking the short yardage that is there can be a back breaker for a defense. Balance between trying to make a play down field and just taking what the defense gives though.

Is the SEC out to get Billy N? I doubt it.
But is it ambivalent at best/ hostile at worst toward our legitimate concerns re scheduling? Oh yeah.

Still- we are Florida- we had one of the hardest SOS in the nation all 3 times we won the natty.
We can complain or we can fight through it.

The difference between Florida and it's southern fried SEC opponents is pretty pronounced. I noticed it while a student in the eighties when those dipchits would come to our home games wearing their idiotic fraternity suits in 95 deg weather. I always thought UF's culture couldn't be more different and we were and are very disliked because of it. This was true even before we started beating them and that just added to the resentment. I welcome their dislike but they have treated us like chit for a long time even though we are essentially a cash cow for them. But what can you do when them good ole boys don't like you and think you're arrogant? I think you should use your advantages to crush them on the field like the ignorant, backward mofos they are. I hope we start doing that again very soon.

It's a myth that running a QB makes him more likely to get hurt.

New Study: Quarterbacks That Run Most Are Not Injured Most | FilmstudyBaltimore

Most QBs get hurt getting hit in the pocket. DJ got hurt by that criminally unmaintained turf in Jacksonville. We really need to raise a stink about that field because it keeps happening.

I was saying this in the prediction thread. Beating UGA is the only thing that can be called concerning so far. Statistically they have heavily padded stats.

Undoubtedly. This is one of those games that either team could win by two touchdowns. I feel like our players have seen great competition all year and won’t take Ole Miss lightly. I do feel that Ole Miss could be reading their own press clippings after the UGA game. We can only hope for the best since none of us will be suiting up tomorrow.

Meh, I think the elitist attitude of UF has a lot to do with it. If you look down on other schools and think you are better than them don’t be surprised if they treat you differently.

That might be the case today but I don't think Florida, once ranked the #1 party school in the country held their noses up at anyone. I've always heard how florida was never considered the deep south despite being more southern than the other states in the conference. Probably will change with time as the old timers fade away some but that Southern culture club was definitely a thing in the SEC.

"Either team could win by 2 tds"? Maybe, but I would be shocked if the Gators won this one by 2 TDs.
Rebs beating Georgia wasn't a fluke. Gotta hope that Reb team doesn't show up Sat.

I respectfully disagree. A mobile QB who can extend a play by taking off when nobody is open is what makes a running QB valuable. A QB whose number is called to run the ball as soon as it is snapped is no different than a RB running the ball off tackle. The major difference is that there is no hand off and you don’t have to bring someone else to run wildcat.

But what I was really getting to, is I’d rather him not take unnecessary hits due to who would come in IF one of those hits happened to injure him.

He got injured on a designed run. Whether it was due to a player or the turf is irrelevant. He likely doesn’t strain his hamstring had it been a pass play.

How many times has AR been injured on designed runs?

Also, did you even read that article or just see the headline and post it? A husband and wife had a debate and wrote the article with their observations which they even admit doesn’t tell the whole story because it can’t accurately be tracked.

Observation 1 was running QBs aren’t the most injured.

observation 2 was non running QBs were the least injured.

not really sure what to argue here….
