Stone Cold for Linda McMahon's Undersecretary? Tune into RAW Monday Night!! Honestly, he'd be perfect. His intro music with the shattering glass is perfectly metaphoric to what needs to be done.
Education isn't a Constitutional Right. It is a state issue, and each state is free to educate children as they please. There are a couple of SCOTUS rulings that enforce equality, such as Brown vs. Board of Education, which covers racial equality in education, and an Antonio Independent School District vs. Rodriguez which covers disability equality. The Dept. of Education does set standards and attaches funding to those who meet said standards. States are free not to meet the standards if they wish. And it would not be unconstitutional. But in doing so, they would deprive the state of Federal funds. And money matters. In general, states that spend more per student have better educational outcomes. Pairing down the Dept of Education would potentially dry up an important resource for school funding. Which would mean worse education outcomes, instead of better. Why is this a good thing?
Can any proponent of this selection point to the qualifications this person has making them an appropriate fit for SoE? I am not familiar with the appointee, but am reading concerns from education leaders that there are no appropriate qualifications and that she would be a proponent of the Project 2025 agenda.
No, but I am aware that Trump is seriously considering appointing the architect of Project 2025 to a high level position in his administration. Trump vetting Project 2025 architect Russ Vought for top administration post: Sources
Trump is “casting” his cabinet.. not appointing. Entertainment value is the driving criteria. You guys continue to show an absolute misunderstanding of the Dept of Ed on you posts. Education is local. Improving access to education in Federal.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/11/20/mcmahon-trump-education-degree/ Linda McMahon, President-elect Donald Trump’s choice as education secretary, incorrectly claimed in 2009 that she had a bachelor’s degree in education on a questionnaire for a Connecticut Board of Education post, according to news reports at the time. McMahon received a bachelor’s degree in French and a teaching certificate from East Carolina University, according to her alma mater’s announcement that she would deliver the 2018 commencement speech. The error on the questionnaire was reported by the Hartford Courant during her unsuccessful campaign for the U.S. Senate in 2010. She said at the time that she mistakenly thought her degree was in education because she did a semester of student teaching, and that she had written to the governor’s office the previous year to correct the error after another newspaper noticed the mistake
Shouldn't take you long to cite some, then. I'd love to see them. My guess is that you'll just run away though, after saying something untrue that you can't substantiate.
TBH that's not an egregious error. She most likely earned a teaching license via a Post Baccalaureate program. It's not a degree, but a certificate-granting program. Actually some institutions offer a degree option with the Post Bacc (mine does). I'm more concerned about her Ed leadership experience and her intent with the DOE.
MAGA folks can’t even tell you, they just parrot any dumb shit Trump says. If Trump came out tomorrow and said “We’re going to start taxing American citizens for the air they breathe!” MAGAts would be like “You know what, he has a point, that’s actually a great idea. American air is the greatest in the world and we should treat that way. Thank you Trump for making America great again!” When have you ever seen that contingent push back on any of the dumb shit Trump says or proposes? To them, any and every idea he comes up with is a brilliant one.
all the up in arms bs is no different than the crap the left tried on the SCOTUS appointments in Trump’s first term- it matters little if there is credible evidence as long as they can sully the persons name and image.
