    Interesting news for many of us immersed in Google's ecosystem.

    This may be the beginning of the end for Google’s dominance over the web. Justice Department officials plan to ask a federal judge to force the tech giant to sell off its widely used browser, Chrome, a new report from Bloomberg claims.

    Justice Department officials are also set to recommend that Google “uncouple its Android smartphone operating system from its other products, including search and its Google Play mobile app store, which are now sold as a bundle,” Bloomberg writes.

    My Chrome is so slow to load. If I go away from it even for a minute, it takes forever to be reactive. I use Safari far more.

    I use Edge from the upstart "microsoft". They are a US based company out of a Seattle suburb.

    No issues here. Search results are instant for me. Safari is ok too, but even on my MacBook's and iPads I use Chrome... But I am definitely an android hold out. I like it better.

    I use duck duck go, switched to it about 3 months ago. No ads at all, it's great.

    I use Edge also. Chrome has too many issues with many of the vendors it’s I use for work.

    It would be nice if the Justice Department did something useful like making it illegal to collect information on users who do not expressly give written consent without fear or reprisal for saying no.

    Breaking up Google is idiotic. Why not break up Apple while we are at it then??

    I agree with you but how many people read all of that stuff they put up for people to read before getting on the website? You know the little box that everyone checks at the bottom of the page. I am sure it is in there somewhere.

    It is not. I read them. They are also using data off of your phone without you knowing about it. Tracking you, creating lists of locations, actions and in some cases recording snippets of your conversations.

    Just like this United Health Care company that was hacked and it turned out that they had every single medical record of all UHC clients. CLEAR federal violations of HIPPA laws, but will UHC executives go to prison for life and will everyone who had the info stolen have the right to sue UHC for $Millions in damage? Nope.

    I do not want to hear a damn thing from the Justice Department until they decide to start using their authority to actually protect the American public.
