The analogy completely fails. Politics is the not the same as engineering. You really think Trump and Musk can persuade senior citizens who are dependent on their Social Security and Medicare to give up their benefits? There is a reason why Social Security is referred to as "the third rail of American politics". If politicians try touching it they get the political shock of their lives. Once again remember what happened to W and the Republicans in 2006 after he proposed partial privatization of Social Security in 2005. Following the 2006 election the Democrats ended up with majorities in both Houses of Congress for the first time in 12 years.

Yeah, free speech for racists and extremists. That's why so many legit users have abandoned X. And advertisers too. Your link show Q3 2024 revenues at $271 million, down from a high of $1.567 billion in Q4 2021. Let's just hope Musk/Ramaswamy don't do for the US government what Musk did for Twitter.

We need to drastically cut back on our spending. It's that simple. You can keep your head in the sand but I won't. We are paying somewhere around a Trillion dollars in interest alone. That isn't sustainable.

Why are you talking about revenues? You said users were down, I showed you were wrong. Just admit it and move on.

Revenues are kind of important, and an indicator of how well a company is doing, don't you think? If X truly has a record number of actual real human daily users, why are revenues currently less than one fifth of what they were a few years ago?

    More on X users:

New Data Shows X Is Losing Users in the US and UK

Despite Elon Musk’s claims that X is reaching new record highs in usage every other month, and that the app remains a critical connector, the latest data shows that Elon’s X project is losing user interest, sparked, in many cases, by Musk’s own divisive commentary in the app.

According to new insights, X has seen a significant decline in users in both the U.S. and U.K. in recent months, as Musk has continued to double down on his political stances.

Musk stated his goal for buying Twitter wasn't to make money. It was to preserve free speech. So luckily he did. Otherwise the US would've turned into England where people are being put in jail for their speech. I guess you support that. Sucks for you because trump winning at least stopped that happening in the US for at least 4 years.

If you don't think Harris would've moved to limit speech on X if she won, then you are even more obtuse than I thought.

LOL! Too funny. Elon Musk is trying to stop people from going to jail for speech. Also:

Elon Musk worries free speech advocates with calls to prosecute researchers and critics

    Fanboys are hilarious!

LOL. I looked into the first thing that popped up about the article concerning Victoria Nuland. Musk doesn't say she should be prosecuted for criticizing Musk. Here is the post that was linked from the article. So that article is lying. It's ok, you got caught posting BS again. Oops, you did it again Skippy!

We do need to cut waste. That being said the dirty little not so secret is that the American electorate supports the overwhelming majority of Federal spending. It's also no secret that the deficit is caused by as much by insufficient revenue as it is by wasteful spending. At one time the Republican Party was the party of fiscal responsibility. Since Reagan it has become the party of low taxes and borrow and spend. George H.W. Bush was the last fiscally responsible Republican and his very modest fiscally responsible tax increase was one of the reasons why he was a one time president.

LOL! He only suggested prosecuting her for unnamed and apparently made up war crimes! That is totally different! Also, you missed the first example, where he suggested prosecuting those who boycotted him. Because saying that you shouldn't buy something isn't free speech!
