Anything is possible. Based on the kids resiliency this year...hopium is alive and well. Quite the determined bunch. If the defense can swarm some more, me likey. The LSU game was a thing of beauty... more please. Go Gators.
Hopefully Gator defense learned something from the Texas game. Guaranteed Kiffin is going to use misdirection plays to offset our aggressive defense.
Seems like forever that we've had complimentary football. All 3 phases helping each other and confidence is rising.
Well, whoever it was, they did it fifty years ago. We have consistently gotten this sort of treatment over many decades, officiating especially.
Rather than lament the difficult schedule as a burden, I hope our players and coaches are looking at the silver lining: The Gators have an opportunity to host another huge game and take a shot at knocking off another potential playoff team for the second consecutive week. This is the path that leads to a restoration of relevance in the college football world. We want this challenge, to demonstrate for the pundits and pollsters -- and our own fans -- that this group has grown as a team, has honed its skills and chemistry, and has developed both the toughness and the appetite to compete with the SEC's best. We need this showcase, to show recruits that the Florida program is ascendant, building towards a return to the top of the college football mountain, so that they will be eager to join that journey. If we fill the Swamp and support the team like we did last Saturday, I trust our coaches and players to deliver. Together, we can continue to turn this thing around and get the Gators back on track to winning trophies.
I have a good feeling about it but I won't go with that until Fee tells us what's actually going to happen and how the Gators are gong to eff this up.
I regret so much not being able to make it last week. LSU is usually always a game I make, and seeing The Swamp alive… from home… was bittersweet. I always try to make 2 home games per year. It’s my budget. Texas A&M was my first game this year and by the end I was alone after the miserable showing and downpour drove the rest of my group back to the tailgate early. I am NOT missing this game. Verified resale tickets secured for Section 18. Leaving St. Augustine by 6:00am. Don’t care about noon start, my voice will be long and loud. Let’s get bowl eligible NOW, then go do whatever we want to FSU next week carefree. To whoever season ticket holders in that section who had to sell them this week, thank you. Your tickets went to two angry, bellowing Gator fans who will arrive early and won’t leave - no matter the outcome - until we all finish singing the Fight Song after clock hits 0:00. Cheeeeer for the Orange and Blue, waaaving forever…
Let’s go take a top 10 team down this week. Offense is playing well, DJ gets another week to heal up, hope defense gets some guys back. Let’s make ole miss beat us, and not beat ourselves with turnovers or drive killing penalties. It would be a huge win for the program. Monumental I’d say.
Ole Miss looked great against UGA, obviously they marked that one down on the calender. Not so much LSU or KY. (UF wins btw). Considering DJL is back, coming off a great win, recent recruiting mojo, Sr. day, and a bowl lock game, I expect UF to play HARD. Frankly this is the equivalent of UF's Super Bowl / College Playoff game. I expect the players to go full throttle and the offense and defense coaches to throw the kitchen sink at Ole Miss. As others have stated, this is the marquee SEC game of the week and it's a travesty this is not a 3:30 or night game. On the down side, Ole Miss has a real gunslinger QB, the defense is good, especially on the front, and this is a knock out game for Ole Miss should they lose. Somewhat of an irony it's a Kiffen coached team, considering all the "talk" about him being the next UF coach. It's fun, as a UF fan, to enjoy the excitment building for the next two (FSU is a rival, I don't care what their record is), and possibly three games. We may be the best 5 - 5 team in the nation, and it feels like this contest is much more important on a regional level than a national level. Do I dare even post it? A "W" against Ole Miss would make Gator Nation explode with ecstasy , and the pent up fury of the last 3 and 3/4 seasons, would melt away!!!! Go Gators!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watching the Georgia game, the Tenn game and then enjoying a win against LSU has been inspiring. This team seems to have figured it out. To come that close to beating the top tier teams and playoff contenders is huge progress. Seeing the kids be so jacked after mauling the LSU QB and executing the offensive explosives. True joy! May the progress and glory continue... Go Gators.
