We would not have expected 3/4 of the players he has recruited from high school to play for us their freshman year. Either he has much lower standards for his program, or is just stating a excuse for why he doesn't leave Boulder to recruit.
The odd part is he's really not wrong about half the kids that don't play 1st year will probably leave to find playing time. Focus development on those that don't leave, be picky the next cycle and fill in with experience from the portal. But at the same time it just feels wrong too. Weird!! I don't hate it but I don't like it either.
Well he's not wrong but he is also doing the absolute extreme version of it. I'm not sure it works nearly as well without a top 5 QB at the helm.
Well to be fair CBN played the most freshman in the country last season. it seems like it was the older kids that left here lol. But regularly, sanders really isn't that off about the state of recruiting HS kids and their lack of patience and understanding of the system and ability to transfer whenever they want.
And not just Florida kids. But hoping somebody else develops your players well for you is lazy and and not sustainable.
They'll beat TN and be riding high until GT and their running QB comes in and beats them a week later.
It’s already starting to feel like the wheels are coming off a little. At least losing some steam. Might be wishful thinking though.
I've had plenty of UGA, as a true dis-liker of UGA football I hope your correct. Another 40 year swing from wining another Natty suits me just fine.
Out talenting is a little harder in today's environment. Keeping 5* kids three deep isnt nearly as common.
Absolutely and I believe it’s reason 1-100 that Saban retired. Of course Georgia will probably be on the cutting edge no matter what and they’re a good portal QB away from another undefeated season next year
Looks like that game will be played with less than their top players. Both teams have significant injuries lately.
Satan didn't work the portal like FSU and Miami does. Imagine if he went after portal kids? He would have crushed it. But, that's harder than fooling an 18 year old kid, telling him he's gonna put him in the league.
What I mean is Saban is no longer able to lean on his pitch that he is the best change the players have to get to the NFL and make money. Now everyone can make money and be featured. Gone are the days where a player would consider grey shirting just for a shot at getting a scholarship at Bama. Which also means Bama can't just stockpile talent while also robbing other SEC teams of talent. Everyone is on much more even footing. At that point, he's just a great coach as opposed to a great coach who can play NFL gatekeeper and get whoever they want.
Nevermind. They blasted Texas and Tennessee on the road and barely lost to Bama. Things are off the rails the same way they're off the rails at NVIDIA when their stock price goes down 1%
