Kelly's history would suggest that he never wins big; and that was before he came to the SEC. Yeah, I hope they keep him. I think his buyout will help with that.
Note--BK was a big name hire, with big time experience--the kind of coach everybody here wanted us to hire the last couple of go around. Ill take the first 2 seasons of painful 'adjustment' and laying foundation, over 2 seasons of premature ejaculation topping out with a smoke n mirrors pretender like FSU and LSU. Jmho/fwiw.
The Corndogs started getting less classy over the last 12-15 years or so. I think it was the 2018 game where their band continually played over top of ours and tried to drown out We Are the Boys and Won't Back Down at the end of the 3rd quarter. We still won but why do they have to be dicks about it.
I concur. Prior to that they were just a fun rivalry with the Mad Hatter. Two elite teams battling it out from different divisions. But the band and hurricane shenanigans by their former AD turned it bitter.
Also had some questionable penalties called in their favor that extended drives. I don’t think Ole Miss was awake for that game either. Certainly wasn’t the same intensity Ole Miss displayed against UGA
Respectfully disagree. That 97 crowd was awful. That was just their first chance to show their asses against spurrier.
LSU fans were always pretty trashy. Never understood the admiration some of our fanbase likes to give them.
And the school as well. LSU-Clemson: Booster scandal overlooked as Tigers play for title I'm guilty of a persecution complex as a gator because of stuff like this. How Georgia, LSU, Bama escape getting their named dragged through the mud while Florida was branded as a rogue program under Meyer and still gets mention today is beyond me. It's maddening.
All good. We all have different experiences. Having grown up as a Gator in Tally, what I saw of the corn dogs paled in comparison to what I dealt with daily .
Maybe when we were whipping their ass through the Spurrier and Meyer years we just never had to hear them cry. They get a few wins under their belt and they get an attitude.
I glanced over at Tiger droppings and it sounds like gator country from earlier in the season. Kelly can’t win the big one. Terrible time management. No sense of urgency. Terrible playcalling. Fire the coach. Fire the AD. Who approved such an outrageous buyout? There’s even a debate on whether they should’ve hired Kiffin instead of Kelly. The comments are split either way.
Yep, I recall the Rebs getting a bunch of PI penalties that kept Ky drives alive. Of course the Rebs also lost to LSU in overtime. They had that game won in regulation before giving up a big play late. So maybe the Gators just need to hang around and wait for the Rebs to screw up. Definitely cant let them run the ball which opens up their passing game.
Yep, a lot depends on where you live with these rivalries. Prior to moving to Miami after college, I was indifferent to the Canes and always rooted for them vs fsu. However, after living in S Fla in the 80s/90s and working/playing golf with some golden canes they quickly became the most hated rivalry for me. No longer in SFla, so they are still a hated rival but have dropped back below fsu, Ga, etc.
It appears he is losing respect from his own players the way he talks down to them. I suspect there will be transfers leaving there and I suspect whatever recruits they have is worth going after. They lose one more game and the knives will be out. Thankfully, they can't afford to fire him for if they could he would be gone imo.
