Not sure Nussmeir is that bad. I saw him convert 3rd down after down and control the ball for 41:43 to our 18:17. I do believe if Mertz hadn't gone down and we could have played both QB's that the Georgia game was winnable. Texas would have been closer even though I don't think we win.
The PFF breakdown is great. But a much deeper dive on Gator Gameday. One point it hints: Napier didn't get out-coached by Kelly.
The depth that Billy has built is one of the biggest factors in the success of this team and doesn't get mentioned enough imo.
I don't get the teeth gnashing over the TOP and 3rd down conversion/1st downs stats. Explosive plays change and win games. Every touchdown scored by either team came from an explosive play or directly because of one (badger to the 1). Long sustained drives are nice, but if you don't capitalize on them who cares? They were forced into over 20 third down situations to our 9. We had roughly the same yardage and 11 more points. For once UF was the more explosive team and the result was a big win. Just enjoy it and stop pining for Muschamp ball.
Great win! Trey Smack with a 55 yard FG! WOW! D played great, (not a fan of bend but don't break, but it did create 7 sacks so that is awesome!) DJ is just lights out with that cannon arm! A big part of his success to me is his brain and emotion. Kid wants to win and is very calm under pressure. I hope the medical staff can do everything they can to make his hammy even more healed than this week. How about the Emmitt Smith battery charge stimulus procedure???? LOL Great game GATORS!
