The Florida Gators snapped a five-game losing streak vs LSU on Saturday evening, defeating the Tigers 27-16 behind a season-high seven sacks from Florida’s defense and a monster game from senior receiver Elijhah Badger. The victory also ended Florida’s eight game losing streak against top 25 teams. Florida improves to 5-5 (3-4 SEC) on the 2024 season.

Florida sacked LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier seven times in the contest, a monstrous effort against an offensive line that had allowed just six sacks through nine games, the 4th least in the country entering week 12.

Lagway getting starting experience will prepare him to have a successful sophomore season. I was worried Mertz would not give him time to develop in real game situations but now he has lead us to victories against KY and LSU who we had not beaten in a long time.

It helped that Nussmeier has the mobility of Dan Marino. Kudos to the rest of the defense for their coverage or confusion that helped contribute to these sacks. Impressive amount to say the least.

Sure, but Nuss had more mobility than DJ.

Well, not really. He's more mobile than Marino and was the most mobile QB playing yesterday.

A qbs best tools are his brain and his arm. Mobility is just a bonus.
