f Just a thought, the new scholarship limit gives room for development type players and favors or just good deeds.
The winner in Fall Ball in the field for the Freshmen class is clearly Taylor. She hit, she ran, she fielded; she, simply was the complete player. However, the other freshmen were impressive as well. Red (Katelynn) was very impressive in the circle. It’s pretty evident that she will probably make the starting rotation.
At this same point last year we had zero returning pitchers with no experience. A concept I don't remember Tim has ever had going into any season. Along with Keagan coming off injury coming into last Spring season which put at that time some further questions on the development of the pitching during the course of the season. We saw a light at the end of the tunnel starting with the winning of the SEC tourney. It sounds like Keagan velocity during these scrimmage games is coming back to to pre injury levels coming out of high school meaning the 70 mph plus. The optimism I have is the pitching coming into this season. We should be able to make a good push for good things in the Spring.
Went to O&B scrimmage tonight. This team is loaded. I do not have statistics or the score, but our pitching and hitting are outstanding. Kara started for one team and was outstanding. She reached 70 several times, and the ball movement was outstanding. Let me just cut this short and say that your Florida Gators Softball ladies are ready to make some noise; CTW spoke to us afterward and is very high on these ladies. He said there will be opportunities to interact with the team as the season progresses. He let each player introduce themselves and give a blurb about their experience and Gator's journey. CTW says there will be more chances to interact with the team, and Dinner on the Diamond will return. I cannot wait until February!
Excited about this whole team. Really want to see how Keagen progresses this year. From the sounds of it she is more than ready.
Lauren Staff just put out a Fall Ball summary on floridagators.com that’s a really good summary of the fall season!
