Kind of wish Biden had paid attention to the details (and the devil) when he withdrew our troops from Afghanistan.
Hopefully Trump will learn from that and pay closer attention to the details in Ukraine

Zelensky is smart to put Trump on the defensive here. He can leverage Trump now.

ending quickly versus ending well are two different things. Ukraine could end it today by surrendering to mother Russia. That would not be in our interests.

What's in the US interest? More dead Ukrainians?

As I said day 1, the longer this war goes on the smaller Ukraine will be when it's over. And the greater the human tragedy will be.

Ukraine and the US wanted war. How'd it work out? Sad that morally bankrupt intellectual midgets were running our foreign policy

I don't think he meant that in a good way ... I take as Trump is going to give Putin whatever he wants ...

Putin wanted Ukraine and assumed he could take it in a matter of weeks. Now, nearly 3 years and hundreds of thousands of dead Russian soldiers later, he's managed to take about 20% of Ukraine.

hopefully the comment isn’t too on-the-nose and it does feed trumps ego. trump is all about what makes him look good in the press & social media. But Biden’s team doesn’t need to get offended and stop their final month of support to Ukraine.

I don't think Zelensky is foolish enough to come right out and mean it negatively. He's being strategic in fluffing Trump.

Yeah, that's it. Because that's something you do when your country is knee-deep in a long, bloody war.

He has been Churchillian in his leadership of his country during the invasion. He will be a legend among Ukrainians.

Biden played the shitty hand Trump dealt him in Afghanistan.

    1. Trump negotiated the capitulation agreement to end W's war with the Taliban, which was signed in February, 2020.

    2. Trump dealt directly with the Taliban and left Afghanistan's army completely out of it.

    3. In November of 2020, Trump ordered that our troop level start being brought down to 2500.

    4. Trump's capitulation agreement called for the troop level to be brought to zero by May, 2021.

    5. Trump successfully reduced our troop level to 2500 the month he left office, the lowest level since 2001.

    6. Trump arranged for 5000 Taliban fighters to be released, one of whom is the current leader of Afghanistan.

    7. Trump closed at least 10 US bases as a result of the capitulation agreement.

Those are facts, don't try to rewrite history.

Edit: Sorry, @gatorbill , you can't "Come on Man" facts into MAGA BS.

It might, but I don’t know how Trump would get around the structural limitations boxing him in. He has far more options to pressure Russia than he does Ukraine, and Russia — despite what some trolls would screech for you to believe — is the more vulnerable party as things stand today.

Eventually, maybe. Let’s remember that Churchill wasn’t Churchill until after he died and the people had some perspective. In the moment, he was voted out of office while the war was still in progress. And his next term in the 50s ended in his resignation after two strokes because he was simply too old to do the job.
