One writer believes that Harris lost because she did not have enough "joy". She did not giggle enough during the closing days of the campaign. She should have avoided all policy talk and just danced and giggled her way to victory. She let Trump capture her "joy" with the McDonald's stunt and the garbage truck stunt. What an asinine idea! She lost because she could not articulate any policy ideas that appealed to the average voter. All she ever knew in her adult life was the wealthy life of a lawyer and politician. She was well-prepared to collect votes from college-educated, wealthy people, and she did reasonably well with black people and females. But she basically ignored the actual middle class (tradesmen, construction & factory workers, public servants not in Congress, etc.) and the lower class (restaurant workers, janitorial staff, lawn care workers, etc.). She also needed to come up with something new for immigration. The election was easily winnable for Harris, but she did not articulate intelligent policy that would benefit the middle and lower classes. Ignoring the issues and giggling non-stop would have only created a landslide win for Trump. She was barely qualified to run for president as it was, with no executive experience. Opinion: Harris' real error — not bros, not Biden, not the border Being a more cheerful elf would not help her win the Oval Office. She wasn't running for the position of Santa Claus. America has been dumbed down, but we're not that dumb yet.
Do you ever take a moment to think beyond the surface of your biased thoughts before posting face plants? Too Hot is a buncha buttercups compared with the filth that America's political uneducated post on their alt sites. Ntm you didn't take up the challenge after taking a shot across the bow.
Neither candidate was adequate much less great. Kamala didn’t move far enough left or talk enough hate for MAGA and Trump. She spoke about compromise and including cons in her cabinet. That’s why she lost, so many democrats stayed home. The democrats of today like the pubs don’t want compromise. They despise each other and it’s not going to change for a while if at all. I have a bad feeling about where we are headed as a country. Never thought I’d be glad to be 71. Good luck to all of y’all. You’re going to need it.
A lot of Dems were doing this. It wasn't just Kamala. The truth is the human catastrophe at our southern border made it impossible for most high profile Dems to run left in this election. In fact, many of them embraced Trump in a desperate ploy to salvage their campaigns. Doubling down on progressive ideology in this election was not in the cards. She would have lost by a greater margin if she had doubled down on catch and release, for example. It was a bizarre reflection of a party that knew they had erred too far to the left and needed to bring it back to the center. Too little, too late and inauthentic to boot.
Another thing that the Democrats need to realize: securing the union vote and securing the blue collar vote are two different things. The vast majority of blue collar workers are not in a union anymore (this isn't the 1950's), and many of them dislike unions anyway (corruption, hostility, etc.). As of 2022, only 7.8% of manufacturing workers were in a union. (At quite a few non-union plants, the plant manager will be fired if there is even a union vote, because it means he is not taking care of his people.) Blue collar people are worried about taxes, but they are also worried about education, infrastructure, and a lot of other things.
The thing about this pick is how baked into the next man (woman) up she was in the Identity Politics of the Leftist's leadership. There was NO way the Left were going to "primary" her after Biden got talked out of running for reelection. And when Nancy, Biden and actor George Clooney endorsed her for the nomination (again, without a primary) it was impossible for any other options. In a way, Biden sealed the Dems fate when he chose her to be his running mate in the 2020 election, and when they ran him off... the deed was complete. He might have known this ahead of time, and even in his diminished mental capacity still had enough political know how that he planned this possibility in, hoping that the Dems would think twice before preplacing him with the lowest common denominator from the Dems' 2020 primaries. Lol... maybe he was playing 3-D chess... And for a man that lost his support even after winning the Dem primary might really feel good about Trump's victory... after all, he looks absolutely giddy in the WH picks when Trump visited recently. I truly wonder if Biden voted for Harris. Part of me thinks he got the last laugh and did NOT vote for her.
in fairness the dems dumped Biden without realizing that all the money donated was tied to the Biden campaign, so the only way to keep that money was to anoint Harris
Then she proceeded to blow over $1,000,000,000 plus $20,000,000 that they didn't even have in a losing race. I call that... priceless.
So... they think she talked TOO MUCH ABOUT POLICY? Is that for real? That whole Yahoo editorial article has to be satire.
It was obvious that the incumbent party would lose a year ago. Chaos abroad (war in Ukraine, Israel). Chaos at home (immigration). Bad economy. Big shift to Republicans in voter registration , party identity. Trump led bigly in favorability. Democrats picked the one candidate that could not he separated from Biden's failures How do you win PA, WI and MI? By picking someone from San Frsncisco? Scranton Joe would have won more blue collar workers than Kamala, even with his dementia Trump was a historically awesome candidate. The only way to beat him was with widespread massive fraud. That's exactly what the Democrats engaged in but it wasn't enough.
nope..dump Biden long before that became and issue. that is where they failed. there was no shortage of money, with or without the money Biden had already collected
I think the Biden campaign had about 250 Million when he got out of the race. Those additional funds were raised by the Harris campaign.
money can't make you lileable/relatable and no amount of money was going to buy her separation from Biden and the immigration and economic challenges they dealt with Biden needed to step up and make speech owning the inflation and the immigration choices and explain why he made and enforced his decisions. when kam said she couldn't think of anything differently she would have done, she was sunk.
I really think joey was so pissed at the coup that he actually voted for Trump- Jill went to the polls wearing a red oantsuit
