Are we really going to put our entire intelligence community under the charge of two known russian sympathizers?

Is this the consequence of the election that MAGA wanted?

Trump chooses John Ratcliffe to serve as his CIA director | CNN Politics

During his tenure as spy chief, Ratcliffe publicly released unverified information about Russia’s influence in the 2016 presidential election over the objection of members of the intelligence community. Critics claimed at the time that Ratcliffe was using intelligence to help Trump politically as the 2020 presidential election approached.

Trump touted Ratcliffe’s loyalty Tuesday, saying in his announcement:“From exposing fake Russian collusion to be a Clinton campaign operation, to catching the FBI’s abuse of Civil Liberties at the FISA Court, John Ratcliffe has always been a warrior for Truth and Honesty with the American Public.” A CIA official told CNN on Tuesday that the agency is “committed to ensuring a smooth transition.”

Trump initially picked Ratcliffe to be director of national intelligence in 2019, but the Texas conservative withdrew after questions emerged about exaggerations to his national security resume and his partisan record. Trump re-nominated him in 2020 after Ratcliffe emerged as a key defender of the president during the House’s first impeachment proceedings. The Senate later voted 49-44 along party lines to confirm him.

Ratcliffe stayed in the role during the 2020 election and presidential transition, during which he personally told Trump and his allies that there was no evidence of foreign election interference or widespread fraud. Years later, he was forced to testify about the experience to a federal grand jury as part of special counsel Jack Smith’s criminal probe into the aftermath of the 2020 election.

If I were an operative outside of the US right now, I would be quitting my assignment and immediately flying to an EU country seeking asylum. Now that Putin is firmly in charge of the United States, I am guessing most of those foreign assets will be exposed as a sign of fealty to Moscow.

Tell it like it is.....Ratcliff exposed Russia Russia Russia. I'm sure the paper shredders over at the CIA are getting plenty of use right now. Hunter Biden doesn't like this choice I'm sure I think when others in the intelligence agencies were hiding information about Hunter's laptop Ratcliffe was releasing the truth.

Well, I think that the desired result is to shed light on the TRUTH.

So in that regard, commenting, reporting on, or investigating Trump's )or associate's) ties to Russia would certainly produce the desired result. Whatever the truth may be.

Why does it seem like Trump supporters are so opposed to the truth being revealed? Is it because, like the Republican Senate Intelligence Committee reported, the Trump campaign had extensive ties to Russia?

Are you shaking your head at the fact that the Republican Senate Intelligence Committee found extensive contacts between the Trump campaign and Russia?

Senate panel finds Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. election

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump campaign’s interactions with Russian intelligence services during the 2016 presidential election posed a “grave” counterintelligence threat, a Senate panel concluded Tuesday as it detailed how associates of Donald Trump had regular contact with Russians and expected to benefit from the Kremlin’s help.

The nearly 1,000-page report, the fifth and final one from the Republican-led Senate intelligence committee on the Russia investigation, details how Russia launched an aggressive effort to interfere in the election on Trump’s behalf. It says the Trump campaign chairman had regular contact with a Russian intelligence officer and says other Trump associates were eager to exploit the Kremlin’s aid, particularly by maximizing the impact of the disclosure of Democratic emails hacked by Russian intelligence officers.

Among the more striking sections of the report is the committee’s description of the professional relationship between former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Konstantin Kilimnik, whom the committee describes as a Russian intelligence officer.

    He did?

The findings, including unflinching characterizations of furtive interactions between Trump associates and Russian operatives, echo to a large degree those of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation and appear to repudiate the Republican president’s claims that the FBI had no basis to investigate whether his campaign was conspiring with Russia. Trump has called the Russia investigations a “hoax.”

I agree. A person indebted to Russia for clear and documented assistance in a US presidential election will be the next POTUS. Shame on America.

Makes me sad that you disbelieve the Republican Senate Intelligence Committee.

But we're all entitled to our opinions and beliefs. Unfortunately for your opinions and beliefs....we are not entitled to our own facts.
