A number of the HHS Secretaries have been lawyers and/or administrators of social programs at the state or federal level. Keep in mind that the Department is also responsible for the Administration of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and SSI among other programs. The heads of the agencies responsible for health (CDC, NIH, FDA, etc) are almost always doctors or scientists.

It’s kind of funny the way these people always talk about “woke” this and “woke” that and claiming the focus of education should be on the STEM majors. Which isn’t a terrible recommendation (I don’t think anyone disagrees hard sciences should be emphasized or the govt should even incentivize them, I just don’t think we should close off other options). But this health nonsense is pretty much just straight up attacking STEM. Because gut feelz > scientific process. So I guess forget majoring in a STEM field kids, just keep working on those social media influencer skillz and you’ll go far.
Your kids were far better off financially by virtue of being part of your family. I suspect for a lot of kids, perhaps at different schools, they didn't have money for junk food and that school lunch or breakfast was the only thing close to a balanced meal they had each day. In my opinion, you find money for those meals even if it means the football team has to go without new uniforms every year or parents have weekly car washes. The United States of America should not have malnourished children in its schools.

Rubio may be the only one actually “qualified” and not batshit crazy, and even he has ridiculous issues of credibility with being such a flip-flopper. It’s hard to imagine people less qualified than Gaetz or RFK. The Fox News defense guy isn’t much better.
Marco Rubio. Not my ideal but he's definitely well qualified. Should be confirmed with at least 85 votes in the Senate. Doug Burgum should also be confirmed with a bipartisan vote. Not a fan of either Pete Hegseth or Kristi Noem, both of them are at least minimally qualified and should be confirmed although probably not with very many votes from Democrats. Kennedy, Gaetz and Gabbard scare the hell the out of me and there's always the possibility that Trump could use the recess appointment authority to put any or all them in office if he doesn't think that they will be confirmed by the Senate.
