People play with injuries all the time and get placed on the depth chart even if they’re not going to see the field. If he plays at this point, the chances of him getting his year back drop down close to zero. If he doesn’t play, I’d say his chances are pretty good. I don’t know that’s why he isn’t playing, but seems logical to me.
Playing five games this year seems better than hoping DJ gives him any opportunity next year. Maybe two years of education? It just doesn't add up.
He doesn't have any years to save. He redshirted already. He doesn't have an extra covid year. It only benefits him to play to get a new landing spot next year if he doesn't want to be here. It's inconceivable that we gave him a scholarship as an emergency qb who wouldn't agree to play in an emergency when we didn't give Cormani a scholarship and Cormani is starting now. How he goes from a good back pocket option to unplayable is beyond me.
Not surprised other teams are going to always be ahead in the facilities arms race. As for expansion, track stadium is adjacent and could be moved I suppose.
We know guys get extra years all the time. There are countless 6th year players out there....some with more than 6 Let's say Millen realized a few weeks ago he was never beating out DJ and approached the staff about saving his year so he could play somewhere else. No idea if accurate, but it fits
Somebody who doesn't beat out a walk on in fall camp isn't thinking during any part of the season he is competing for a starting job next year. In tangibles he looks like a shoe in to beat out Warner, so something seems amiss before fall camp. This is just very weird without more info disclosed.
I said didn't beat out Lagway....this has nothing to do with Warner. He saw he was buried behind mertz and dj....who would have thought both would go down
