Yep, between this and Massie's comment.. Gaetz knows what's going to happen. Recess appointment. Not even worried. He's the next AG.
If the confirmation vote was an anonymous secret ballot vote like the vote for majority leader there is no way that Gaetz would make it through the Senate. Since the vote will be a matter of public record Trump could intimidate enough Republican Senators to force the confirmation of Gaetz considering that Republican politicians including members of the Senate are not exactly candidates for profile in courage awards.
Over and under on how many times Alvin Bragg has had to change his britches this afternoon and evening?
First appointment that Trump has made that is fitting. A pedophile and sex trafficker now in charge of the Justice Department for a President that used to fondle children with Epstein watch under age women get undressed backstage at beauty pageants. Seems perfect.
Article II, Section 2, Clause 3: The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the End of their next Session. I take that to mean that they would have to be reappointed after 2 years
You don't understand how our government works, and that is sad. Ignorance is nothing to be proud of. The breadth and depth of the AG's authority is staggering. It makes me sad that dimwits are being put in positions of extreme power and authority.
Interesting take. Pawn of who? Since you are so certain he was a pawn, perhaps you can give an example of the pawn master moving the pawn.
To think, the end result of Qanon is Trump putting a known pedophile in as nation's top law enforcement officer
I don’t see Gaetz becoming AG. Blocking him would actually benefit Trump by preventing the blowback. Maybe the goal is pick someone controversial, but not quite Gaetz-awful? (post 86) or block him to give appearance this admin isn’t a total clown car? There are plenty of choices loyal to Dear Leader without damaging the brand like gaetz. Wiles is Trump’s chief advisor, she’s smart and sees Gaetz.
I just don't get the excitement of recess appointments. I rather like the Senate approval of cabinet members etc.
