I agree, though I'm trying to imagine taunts that aren't completely inappropriate and that won't look just as bad for the taunter as the tauntee.

"Coach Golden unfollowed me, too"? I mean - I don't see an easy angle that isn't offensive to all parties.

That depends on where it stands currently. If it is significant, it could go to court and get dragged out. Conversely, the investigation may be nearly wrapped and no findings was the outcome. Maybe she was told that there wasn’t enough to move forward, so she ran to The Alligator because she wanted justice or to attempt to defame the coach. Everything at this point is conjecture. We may have already heard the last. It’s a meh situation until anything is released by an official source.

Interesting take by Gene Frenette from The Jacksonville Florida Times-Union.

Right? It's been what 6-8 weeks? It's what makes it all so damn confusing. Doesn't seem like it should take long to prove or disprove. Perhaps why they went to the press?

One thing I haven't seen discussed: a settlement. No idea if such a thing factors into Title IX complaints, as it isn't a civil case.

I’m personally not all that concerned that he has screamed his innocence from the highest mountain. Our prison system is filled with folks who have done so. Is it strange? Well, yes if you are innocent but even more so if you are not.

If any of the allegations are true, Golden should be fired. But until the facts come out, I totally support him and assume his innocence. I think a settlement of any kind would only be discussed if and when the determination is made that he did something wrong, which would probably prompt a civil action by the accusers. And, if so, the settlement would probably involve the University of Florida as well as him personally. Deepest pockets. Just my opinion.

    1. They will be college kids.
    2. Some will be rivals.

They will take their best shots. It may piss-off the Florida team.

    Adds nothing new, IMO.

And they are attending Florida State and therefore not as well-educated and perhaps even ape-like in their thinking

Class of 77, a bit before they played, I watched them play a bunch, I used to see them playing ball in their drive way.

I played for coach Ken Roger's. His son, Kenny and the 76 team was very good.

    My senior year, 77, we were 15 - 13.

Does anyone know if title IX rules preclude him from commenting publicly on the situation? This would include proclamations of innocence. It would also make this writer look like an idiot for making such a big deal about it.

When we first moved to Crestview in 1978 my family lived right behind Joe and Pat on the next street, Sunshine Drive. We could hear them dribbling and shooting all hours of the day and night. I remember Coach Rogers as well from school.
