CeCe Jefferson is one I remember. He wss a solid defensive lineman, but, everyone forgot that he was a former five star recruit by the time he left.

Bro you misspelled Napier. I'm sure somehow it's his fault that he failed to plan for your typo as any great coach would have done and therefore should be fired, but help the guy out.

to be fair, both Galen Hall and the player, Jarvis Williams, denied that Hall ever made a payment for him. Hall did admit he paid salary supplements to two of his assistant coaches, which was also against the rules.

back then more schools were afraid of,the ncaa. They didn’t have any proof of the supposed payment for Williams. They heard it may have happened and that was enough for the ncaa. They never needed proof back then. Now, like Tennessee last year, schools just tell the ncaa to pound sand.

Aside from the fact Mac and Mullen’s classes were graded higher than Napier’s and the 2025 class is probably the worst Gator class since the addition of the forward pass. I don’t recall Mac or Mullen being sued by recruits either.

Is think thats like four in 14 years? I think thats it isnt it? Our payroll hasnt been up with the Jones if you ask me. Somebody has been trying to make silk purses and its just not possible without the silk. Its not mystery in my mind as to why Saban has far more ships in such a short amount of time than anyone in history. It certainly wasnt the innovation of sos tgat took tge sec by storm. At first he just lined up and destroyed the los for a few championships till a couple other teams bought a few classes and out coached him. Then, he started getting to best ocs he could get to go along with his handpicked 30 kids. Napier is no Saban but if he had 15 5*'s and three number one classes bought for him so far, and the best staff money could buy, do you think things would be different today? Do ya think those future ocs on staff as analysts got a little extra cheese on their burger.

Saban knows damn well what hes talking about that's been different at Florida. He knows how to fix it alright.

People don't want to face this truth. UF and BN got caught in a landslide of change in cfb. Just look at the players who left, and recruits we missed out on, for a check. Pile on crap like the Rashad fiasco and it's depressing.

I agree with Shane Matthews and the point Wanne is making. Basicly the key to success now is "How much $$$ Money" is in the kiddy to "buy" a playoff appearance and perhaps, win a championship. Look at Ole Miss this year. People can talk about all the brilliance of Lane Kiffen and Dan Lanning they want but until they actually WIN, a ring, IMO they are experiencing their current success by having $$$ giant money and buying players and assistants.

What coaches nowdays really have to do is understand how to "spend" that kiddy on a balance of H.S. studs, Transfer Portal Studs, and Assistant Coaches. You do that right your in the playoffs. Sure, all the traditional things (coaching / game planning) come into play once your in the playoffs, but it's all about the "bank" right now.

Yup. One of the only excuses I give Napier is the NIL thing. I'll go in on blaming him for everything else that gets brought up here but clearly players are going elsewhere for money, not that winning more wouldn't help that part out of course but waller and Williams didn't go to auburn because they were winning under freeze...

Speaking of Williams, I hope we get to see the other Williams we signed last year at TE stay on the roster and grow as a Gator given all the hype we heard about him. Just reminded myself of him when I brought up the other williams.

Talent acquisition, both assistant coaches and players. Seems like we had a brief glimpse of Mo but then got bogged down in the process of evaluations. Film at 11.

If any of the Rashada lawsuit stuff is true, it very much sounds like Napier was all in on NIL as far back as 2022. Frankly, I don't think NIL is an excuse. Like the 10-second run off rule, Napier has a duty to stay ahead of any and all rule changes in college football. If a coach was not ready for NIL, he never should have been hired at UF. I respect your position, but I feel like people look for a bone to throw Napier and I don't think this is one. A guarantee of $30+ million, he should know what the rules are before they even go to print.

They got caught unprepared. That can't happen if you want to compete at a championship level. Other institutions also faced the exact same challenges and some seem to have navigated them without difficulty.

You cant win unless you buy the talent first. Money recruits , not personalities. Sure , it helps but tgats not the main factor. Nike guy says Lanning has all the money he will ever need to do whatever he wants and that money will never be an issue. Once you get to that point, you can blame the coach for not winning.
