Trump needs to turn up the temperature to make this happen, but if we want to MAGA, we must promote Senator Rick Scott.

Meh, there are a lot of Dems who hate him. Maybe better choices out there.

How are they subsidizing Elon, my reading of all of the stories is his space flights are cheaper than paying the Russians and obviously better than Boeings.

Interesting - I'm ambivalent. There is no way he will be more effective in maintaining order in the republican side of the senate or be as effective at massaging legislative victories through procedure than mcconnell was. This is like Deboer replacing Saban at Alabama. Probably a good pick but I'm just glad it's not MM anymore.

You never want to be the first guy on the merry-go-round with Trump.

Giving credit where credit is due SpaceX has been doing an excellent job providing launch services. That being said that there is an inherent conflict of interest when the CEO of one largest federal contractors to the US government has also been selected to play a critical role in setting government policy and let's not forget oversight of Tesla by the NHTSA. Tesla is already being investigated for problems with its autonomous driving system and Musk is also seeking approval to use completely autonomous taxis. Musk contributed to well over $100 million to Trump's campaign. He will almost certainly receive something in return from the transactional soon to be president mostly freedom from any oversight.

Well, yes. Without any intended hyperbole, non-MAGA should recognize that this is now our government. Checks and balances will be diminished. Our government is composed of a MAGA-aligned president, Senate, House, and Supreme Court. This is a Trump gov and what they voted for.

Why am I not surprised MAGA is in favor of Rick Scott? I mean he has the qualifications they’re looking for. Under his leadership as CEO his company was convicted of 14 felonies for fraud and agreed to the largest healthcare fraud settlement in history.

Yeah, I disagree with @108’s proposition that Musk wins because of subsidies. He wins on Tesla by killing subsidies for the competition.

Musk is advocating for killing California’s mandates, which translate to a national mandate. I suspect he wants to control the NHTSA’s autonomous vehicle rules.
