Truth. The Democrats are so far left, that even members of their own party are scared.

Donald Trump has no greater friend than the far left, which has managed to alienate historic numbers of Latinos, Blacks, Asians, and Jews from the Democratic Party with absurdities like “Defund the Police” or “From the River to the Sea” or “Latinx.”

There is more to lose than there is to gain politically from pandering to a far left that is more representative of Twitter, Twitch, and TikTok than it is of the real world. The working class is not buying the ivory-towered nonsense that the far left is selling.

Very intelligent answer from a typical left wing liberal.

I actually agree with this. Trying to get "manly" blue collar union dudes to join political forces with drag queens is a losing proposition.

imo Dem party is disconcerting and needs major changes. They keep snatching a loss out of the jaws of victory.
but it’s been well discussed why Trump so bad - majorities of each of those groups still voted for Harris.

“Mr. Trump is unfit for our nation’s highest office,”

Don’t agree with the OP’s opinion on an opinion. The opinion itself is nothing new.

If you are a dem, fundamentally you should care about the little guy. The opinion is a backhand at fighting for marginalized groups. If you are the little guy (Union guy whose job got outsourced by the Republican owner)? fighting against the corporate Republican greed is being a Dem — you should be ok with it. But the marginalized groups aren’t exactly fighting for the union guys in return. Dems failed to bridge people with a common enemy.

Why are Republicans working so hard to help reform Dems? Just let the Dems not get it and fail. Or is this just about spiking the ball?

Middle class democrats, unions and even minorities are moving towards the Republicans. If anything, it is the left that is pandering to the rich, while the Republicans are securing the vote of the middle class. Sure the Democrats still have the majority in their typical base, but Trump performed better in every imaginable typical Democrat demographic in this election that hasn't been seen since 2004.

The Blacks and hispanics are tired of being overlooked by the Democrats, while the Democrats are more interested in giving money to illegals than taxpayers.

Here is the deal... many Americans have given up on the democratic process to get them the things they want. Most are open to an authoritarian getting them the things they want. Donald Trump walked through that door.

Or... the American electorate didn't want men pretending to be women in sports... did not want DEI... did NOT WANT ENDLESS WARS...

Edited: I also hope the Dems do NOT figure it out before the midterm elections. They won't... they're still busy blaming the voters... LMFAO! They won't figure it out... there's no introspection going on there.

You'll get no argument from me on this. The far left has done a lot of damage to the Democratic party. Just like the far right has caused a lot of Republican losses by nominating far right wackos who can't win general elections for the senate and house and governorships. See governor in NC and senator race in AZ for current examples of that.

I know people gave this a funny rating, but I 100% was being serious. You're going to have a hard time courting the rust belt types when you're also courting the LGBT types. Biden was the best president for union members in decades, and Kamala got smoked. It's a major problem for the Democrats.

I actually agree with the OP in one respect. Probably best way to persuade white male blue collar workers with less than a college education to vote for Trump has been to label them as beneficiaries of "white male privilege" especially when those doing the labeling are left-wing female media stars and politicians who are earning more than those so called beneficiaries of white male privilege could ever hope to earn.

I agree with the opening tweet, too. Not the post that said it's all the Democrats. But I think the right has been very effective at branding the Democrats to kids getting gender-changing surgery (in school!), drag queens out to seduce children, former guys winning all the women's sports events, illegal immigrant raping and pillaging good, decent Americans while living in free homes on welfare ...
Some things, like 'defund the police', are just such a stupid thing to say that they didn't need any embellishment.

The Democrat mainstream leadership has to make it much clearer what they stand for and separate themselves much more cleanly from the wackier element.

It's clear you've bought all Trump's BS. How are Dems pandering to the rich? They want to increase taxes on the super-rich who pay little.

The problem is that D's don't get in front of those things and push back where pushback is required. Again, Lia Thomas. If you're defending what Lia Thomas did, you're on the wrong side of 90% of Americans. And a lot of D's I know knew that, but just reflexively took up a position even they knew was bankrupt. And why? Political fealty?

That said, give the R's time. . . and rope.
