Thats a bit extreme. This class is whatever but to be fair CBN not only signed the highest rated QB we've ever had but he has also signed as many 5 star players as mullen and Mac combined.
You're really showing your lack of Gator acumen. You must have forgotten Danny Wuerffel, Brock Berlin and Chris Leak. And Mullen/Mac combined for more 5-star recruits than has Napier. Can't tell if you're being serious honestly, with some of your takes. This class is "whatever"? No, it's painfully bad and way worse than any Gator class I can ever recall going back several decades.
Billy isn’t even a good “CEO” Coach. Look at his failed hires and recruiting/portal misses. He also can’t manage a game regardless of if he’s calling players or not.
Did they play hard against UTa? I've had BLT last couple of days. I'll probably get more bacon for asking this question.
Nothing major really, not even politics. I look for conspiracy/esoteric food for thought, but, rarely comment on any of it. I'm more active here than any other social media by a mile.
I'll answer this with my opinion, although you didn't ask me... I think they played pretty hard at first. I think once things started going off the rails a little bit (the fumble, the missed pick by Gumbs, and the fact that our 3rd string DB's were overmatched) the intensity lessened a bit. I wouldn't say they quit though. Definitely not in the 2nd half, game being out of hand notwithstanding. We'll see how the team responds next game. Hopefully we have some players returning from injury so we can get more of an apples to apples comparison.
Every year under Foley we were in top 5 of all sports ratings, so our peers were the top 5. SS has been coming nowhere near.
Is that code for regardless who they play and how hard the players play, they are still going to lose with CBN?
Galen was fired mid season for the paying a player scandal. Gary Darnell was interim coach when Spurrier was hired. Allegedly the big $$ boosters insisted on Spurrier. Arnsparger wanted to hire Mike Archer from LSU. I was a freshman at the time … some of you older than me probably remember the details better. The decision was made not on coaching performance - but on the scandal for Galen.
I think so. Again, this is jmo. If talent are equal or UF has à slightest advantage, he will lose the majority of these matchups.
Galen was just being a decent man and helped an athlete who was behind on support payments. Really innocent compared to what is going on these days, but UF was under the NCAA microscope at a time when they actually had clout. It’s true that AD wanted Archer which didn’t exactly excite the Gator faithful, but he was a safe choice. Ben Hill Griffin told Arnsparger that the next coach at Florida would be Steve Spurrier in no uncertain terms. Arnsparger went back to the NFL year and a half after that decision.
Go watch the Stadium and Gale podcast on YouTube. DJ’s Mom and Agent. DJ is a Gator! UF needs to do whatever it can to keep that kid.
"Lagway rated as the No. 3 overall prospect and No. 1 quarterback in the class of 2024. The Willis (Texas) high school product is the highest-rated signal caller to commit to the Gators since Brock Berlin in 2000" https://search.app?link=https://247..._campaign=aga&utm_source=agsadl2,sh/x/gs/m2/4 On 247 UF's all time commits. Brock is rated at .9998 and DJ is rated as .9964. They are the 2 highest rated recruits at the QB position we've ever signed. I didn't say he was the best Qab ever signed somi don't know why you mentioned Wuerffel and Leak or even Tebow.
The last class was the 1st to feature multiple consensus 5 star players in same class since the 2010 class that had Powell, Easley, Floyd, elam. etc
