Lagway will be a hot commodity . Top teams that think they are 1 quarterback away from the playoff will be chasing him with suitcases full of money. Many on here profess that the Lagway family is not swayed by such things. BUT, If other NFL caliber players on other highly ranked and NIL flush $$$ programs can catch his attention who knows what the kid does? I want to keep him more than any player since Tebow, but there are no guarantees that he doesn't chase the playoffs or even a more pro style passing offense.
All good points. Whatever is afflicting our recruiting currently is something I'm sure the Lagways are watching very closely.
We will see what happens the next couple weeks. We’re probably losing by double digits to both LSU and Ole Miss even with Lagway. Man, imagine The Swamp if we get smoked by Lane Kiffin. Stricklin better go back into hiding.
No OC worth having will sign on to this slow moving train wreck...particularly with Napier most likely insisting that his crummy offense be run.
Its amazing how some random reporter at CBS can more accurately assess the situation in Gainesville than a not insignificant number of the posters on Gatorcountry.
Interim prez Bob Bryan fired Galen and hired Spurrier. There is no reason an interim can't act. The only reason I can see for the inaction is that he doesn't give a Fuchs.
Would they be co offensive coordinator #3? Or executive co offensive coordinator to the regional manager. Hope at least 1 person catches that reference.
**Thread title change** Golden has changed everything. No way an already battered AD can focus on a coaching search. This is where I can at least accept Billy staying. But it has to be as CEO. Play calling must be turned over to someone with a track record, and the defense needs to be forced to continue the new direction it has been on. DJ is a magnet that can land some recruits and maybe salvage something with this class. I think Billy's calm systematic approach lends him well for a CEO coaching role, but he has to turn everything else over to better Xs and Os guys. The Golden situation could change everything. If Stricklestein takes a fall for all of the scandals...then a new AD isnt required to honor any of Strickilmeister's promises.
I'm thinking he doesn't want the responsibility and that whoever else makes decisions for Florida wants the new president to have his own athletic Director that he hired. It definitely worked out when they hired spur, but maybe people aren't comfortable with that who are in charge
Then he has no stones. What are they going to do, demote him back to the same tenured professor job he had before he became interim?
CEOs largely get judge by the abilities of those they hire/promote. Billy's hires have been questionable at best.
