This whole thread kind of ignores the fact that AS was committed to Billy Napier, but there was not enough in the NIL kitty for two top level QB recruits. Kiffin knows that allowed him to get AS. The old canard that a coach cannot recruit well enough at Ole’Miss is from a bygone era. If they have their NIL set, they will recruit with anyone.
Actually I believe CBN wanted to keep Simmons from reclassifying because he knew the effect having Lagway committed would have, lo and behold Simmons father spoke on that exact issue and stated that "UF already has Lagway and they're all in on him, and Austin didn't want to sit behind him" had Simmons not reclassified he would be coming in next year as a true fresh and an opportunity to take over after lagway.
AS has been sitting at Ole’ Miss. he only was in the game yesterday because Dart was hurt. I read “all in” as a budgeting issue.
Dart is leaving for NFL, AS will be the starting QB in ‘25. In UF, he will still sit behind Lagway. I just watched the game on demand, AS was really confident and impressive.
I didn't see the game but seen he was 4/5 for 40 + yards no TD, and no Ints. So to ittle a sample size for me to have an opinion based off of the stats.
I can't post gifs anymore for some reason. I think he is talking about a dumpster that's burning wildly is my guess.
AND if Ol Miss has a coach who plays exciting offense and also wins. It’s a two-fold deal. Right now, we have neither at UF.
We had enough cash to get the 15th ranked class last year but did spend enough to get the best qb. We just didnt have enough to get all the pieces that a top five program would get. A&M got that top class with cash and a coach waiting to be fired.
Millen is exactly the guy you bring in as your 3rd qb....he checked every box. Plenty of d1 starting experience, solid skill set, affordable
But damn, how bad is he if he is not playing. I've got to believe his injury was never recovered from. But that also has to be taken into account. Why are we taking quarterbacks off injury when we know damn well they might have to play.
I believe Nick Marcinko mentioned something about going forward into 2025 in his article. Maybe he could weigh in on what that means?
