Djt demanding that senate change rules to allow him to make unfettered, unreviewed recess appointments. It has already begun.

Scott has already agreed to this and will get djt support.

Can you imagine the people him and Vance would put in key positions of power throughout agencies across the gubmnt

Donald Trump demands Republicans break with Senate tradition

Well, let's be fair and give him the credit he's due; his fake-business TV reality show was pretty popular for a few seasons. So he knows a lot about this stuff and is qualified to make changes.

Wow, so no more advice and consent - those icky constitutional things? And just look at the quislings scurry into line.

Here comes Herschel Walker as missile defense czar, and that little ferret-faced Stephan Miller as Dir of Homeland Security

The problem is his backers now know what slowed their crazy agenda last time. Now they will target key management positions with people who will do as told with no thought as to the legality of what they are doing. With nobody to stop them as Djt will put Paxson in at AG and nobody will prosecute them, let alone tell them no. If the senate doesn't put guard rails on the appointments, the damage is going to be exponential. J6 leaders probably put in charge of SS level of stupidity on the horizon.

When will the Senate be in recess? He can't make appointments until after Jan. 20th?

The Senate usually doesn't go into recess. If you are not familiar with what "recess appointments" means, it means if the Senate declares they are in recess, then the president has carte blanche to appoint anyone he wants to any position without the Senate's approval that is normally required. It is why the Senate usually stays continuously in session -- to prevent that from happening. But Trump is asking them to go into recess just so he can get around them and the constitutional approval process, and it sounds like they are eager to agree...

I know what recess appointments are and I also know they are temporary and must be confirmed by the Senate by the end of the current term or it expires.

I doubt the Senate allows that to happen, they don't like to give up that power.

They could just go into recess again and Trump reappoints everyone. You got to think like an "above the law" con man.

Since the R's have 53 there is not a need for a recess appointment as I don't believe cabinet nominees can be held up by filibuster (I could be incorrect on that however._)

There are Senate majority leader candidates like Scott lining up to tell Trump they will make it happen. If Trump asks for something, they will give it to him.

So a 4 year appointment of a whole bunch of people with no senate review required. Are you okay with that?

He is the only one of the three. Next djt and Scott will want to change the Senate leadership vote from a secret vote to a public vote because Scott doesn't have the votes even wwith djt of it remains a secret vote.

It may be that Trump is planning on nominating people so horrible that even some Repub senators would balk at them. With recess appointments, problem solved.

It is not 4 years, maximum would be 2 and the Senate can vote them down during that time as well.

Are you okay with two years of thousands of appointments to critical al roles bypassing Senate approval? Seriously?
