Stephen Miller and whole lot of MAGAs are going to be really disappointed if that's the case.

Yes to the green card, and doing all required things to become a citizen, in a timely manner.

Mass deportation needs to be defined.
If more than a few are deported the right will claim Trump followed through.
If Trump does not deport every single breathing illegal in the IS.. the left will claim it’s just another of his lies.
Me.. I don’t care .beef up boarder security, deport the criminals and call it a day.

Another thing that needs to be defined "beef up boarder (sic) security." How many billion more per year more needs to be spent on that before people decide that the highly militarized border is actually defended?

    Well
Let’s see. Mexico is already turning caravans back after the president spoke with Trump. That’s beefed up. And didn’t cost anything..

there were efforts already underway. Biden did ramp up stricter border guidelines this summer which have made a difference. Too little, too late. But there are also reports caravans are breaking up after the Trump win.

Partly as a result of Mexico’s efforts, the number of migrants caught by U.S. authorities at the border in recent months fell sharply to the lowest level since 2020, taking some heat out of an issue on which, polls show, voters trust Republican candidate Donald Trump more than his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the Nov. 5 U.S. presidential election.”

Can you provide evidence of the Mexican government changing policy due to or even following their conversation with Trump? I can't find any. Best I can find is a statement that they will continue an existing policy.

This self-righteous stuff is so tiresome. The US has needed the labor due to shortages. Otherwise, the border would have been closed long ago. The immigration process is completely broken and neither side is talking about actual solutions to fix it, which requires significant investment in both security and the ability to process immigration/asylum applications. Note not one candidate talks about details, because it isn't popular to do so. All people want to hear is useless rhetoric.

Bush was the last person that proposed something that would actually work and the clown brigade on both sides killed it.

I see where a caravan is reduced in size, though the author wrote that it's not clear where many of the travelers went. Don't see anything about Mexico turning people back. IOW - this isn't the own you think it is. Those turning back probably harbor the same concerns of the democratic voters.

That's been happening. It has nothing to do with djt

    https://www.reuters.com/world/ameri...stopping-migrants-after-trump-win-2024-11-08/

MEXICO CITY, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Mexico will continue pursuing measures to stop migrants from reaching its northern border with the United States, its top diplomat said on Friday, days after Donald Trump won the U.S. presidential election vowing a new crackdown on illegal immigration.
Foreign Minister Juan Ramon de la Fuente stressed that Mexico's model is working and will stay in place, pointing to data that shows the number of migrants caught by U.S. authorities at the border had fallen 76% since last December.
"It's working well and we're going to continue on this path," he told a press conference.

I don’t believe any thing Trump says. Maybe try being less insulting and discussions will go better.
I heard a Mexican reporter discussing it and based the info on what I heard n the radio. I also found this article which seems to imply there has in fact been a change since Trump won the election.

TAPACHULA, Mexico Nov 7 (Reuters) - A caravan of thousands of migrants traveling through Mexico with the hope of reaching the U.S. had shrunk to about half its original size on Thursday as many migrants grapple with their prospects following former U.S. President Donald Trump's victory in Tuesday's election.
Trump clinched the presidential election after a campaign that promised large-scale deportations of undocumented migrants and a return to fast-tracked deportations to Mexico.

An official from Mexico's National Migration Institute told Reuters the caravan had dwindled to less than 1,600 people, down from 3,000 when it set out from the southern city of Tapachula on Tuesday.
Just over 100 people asked for help from authorities to return to Tapachula, the official said. It was unclear where the rest of the migrants who left the caravan were headed.
After hearing that Trump had won, many of those in the caravan felt less hopeful about their chance at a new life in the United States.

fair enough. it was stated as a fact, and it is incorrect ot say the Mexico has started cracking down now that djt has been elected. Mexico has been actively engaged for quite a while now and that was due to dem efforts
