Read the ESPN article. It's clearly stated that any federal or state laws would over ride any title ix privacy rules. And the state of Florida has such laws:

Florida's state public records law would determine what the school has to release, and Michael Barfield, director of public access with the Florida Center of Government Accountability, wrote that he wasn't aware of "any statutory exemption under Florida law that shields Title IX complaints as a public record." Even if some information is exempt, he wrote, it would not allow officials to withhold the entire document.

You are correct. I should have added that in this case those privacy requirements are not applicable. The school is just hiding behind them.

The two most damning accusations are the elicit photos/videos and the stalking. If he sent photos, in vanish mode or not to “many” women, there has to be a damning nude photo out there somewhere. Receive photo, take screenshot, send to every friend you know saying holy shit this is the head basketball coach showing me his junk. They then send to friends and so on; pretty soon hundreds of people have damming nude photos of him. Have any been released?

The stalking allegation is interesting. Being at the same location in a small university town isn’t exactly coincidental, nor is messaging someone to say I’m in your area creepy unless they took it as creepy. Plenty of guys being called a stalker or creepy or a douche without them actually intending to be one. An old man doing something a young good looking guy does is creepy, but when the young guy does it, it’s hot.

Then there’s the issue of when does he find the time and anonymity to do all this? Between his full time job, wife, kids, being a public figure in a small fish-bowl of a town - how can he possibly get away with all this without damming evidence floating around the internet. He’s Todd freakin Golden, surely there either must be a pile of evidence out there, that’s been shared time and time again to potentially thousands of people, or a moutain is being made of a mole hill

who knows, but if there’s any evidence there must be a LOT of it, because if I know anything about women, they like to talk and share photos and texts, especially when it comes to guys - and even more so when it comes to guys that people know

Are you serious Clark? If this was known among coaches for 4+ months before any complaint was filed, OMG! Hard to reserve judgement if that's the case.

I think that is the main reason I am reserving judgement. If Stricklin knew about all this and still let him coach, I don't see how he is not fired immediately, if there is not ample evidence that that these allegations are not true. I'm not saying this all goes away, but if the athletic director allows a coach to do what he would not allow a player to do, he is in big trouble, so I have to think there is good reason he let him continue to coach.

This Is pretty disturbing from the article.

I get journalism etc, but if there is no truth to this the alligator is acting like twitter:

“I think it is just a sick f*cking joke that they’re all doing, within that organization, all the coaches,” she said. “They probably get off by showing each other the pictures…There’s something f*cking sick going on there.”

we (me included) have to keep reminding ourselves he is innocent until proven guilty. I find it hard to believe that the AD would try to keep this under the rug, but if he did then ...

The allegations include physical stalking. Showing up where these girls were at, taking images of their location or their cars and posting them.

That is was known and Stricklin still let him coach gives me hope that there is ample evidence the accusations are not true. Otherwise, letting him coach was a big mistake and Stricklin might be in hot water as well.

So I have hope that we have some sort of evidence that can make this all go away. How is that for a pessimist being optimistic?

This whole basketball and football situation is a nightmare. Thank goodness I can direct my thoughts to when Gainesville was referred to as Titletown.

I’d venture a guess that Stricklin and the UAA have legal counsel when dealing with these issues.

In the eye of the public damage is done. only way at this point is to 100% discredit the accusers.

I am surprised as well. The timing couldn't be worse with Stricklin just releasing the letter of support for Napier the day before and I am sure catching lots of heat for it.

Indeed. We should all lay off Stricklin. He is, in this case, the public face of a large machine that has many voices managing law and risk. He is not a free agent. He is an instrument. As it should be, in this situation.

This was one of my points. Somebody wanted a sensational story out there and somebody "leaked" a very select part of a highly confidential document to the internet and a student newspaper and a local TV station. The Alligator bit and rushed to scoop a story and gave a platform for highly inflammatory quotes, anonymously . . . and now folks are running with these as proven facts.

A good defense attorney will be happy those quotes were given.

Yes true. Showing up at the same place may have been misconstrued or misinterpreted, but if he’s actually stalking of course that’s creepy as hell

If anything he’s guilty of not doing full due diligence and vetting, nothing sinister

Yes once it’s out to the public and at the mercy of the public’s opinion, he’s already guilty in many minds and it can’t be fully undone even if he’s found innocent

I should have been more specific…we shouldn’t judge too much his action/inaction on this allegation.

Yea when you’re quoted as saying “I think it’s…” and “they probably” that’s pure speculation. Complete and total speculation. By saying it you’re trying to elicit a reaction and possibly manipulate the situation. That shows clear intent and likely hate towards him and his stuff for whatever the may have done, as small as it might have been. Yet it looks damning as hell in a quote, which I’m sure was part of the point of saying it
