@swampbabe used to be a bit more on the level headed side…a couple years ago perhaps. IMO she has become quite disgruntled and condescending towards most anything conservative. I think these resident libbies attract some weaker minded folks to their way of thinking. There’s a couple in here that have slowly become more libbie over the years.
I wonder if she's consuming the same "meds" that Kam's taking. There's something wrong with both of them.
I still think this is engagement farming. By 5 pm California time, 8 pm EST, it was clear the election was swinging towards Trump. The exit polls were in saying the economy was the biggest issue. The swing counties were in and Trump had over preformed.
I don't think it's that ppl 'become more libby' here, I think it's that this place ('da snowglobe' for this very reason), provides a warn, welcoming environment where the flaming libby's wildest, truest beliefs, find a warm and welcoming reception, thereby encouraging more expression of those already existing sentiments (e g.--they daily Trumpgasms that pollute every other thread on here... (the TDS was already there--da snowglobe just draws it out of them...)). As for 'babe... we've bucked heads plenty--and while our takes are often diametrcally opposed, I think our exchanges have mostly sounded in good natured banter. But that's just me--i have a softspot for educators (being married to one...), and... for all i know, she probably thinks I'm a toxic toad! Lol!
I think i agree with you here based on context, but I'm a little fuzzy on the term 'engagement framing'--please define.
Let's not forget the OG cackle queen: Shillary. A true trail blazing pioneer in the high art of nails on a chalkboard Midwestern cackling!
It is a the process of posting something that you know will drive engagement on social media. Typically to get a reaction from the other side. Drives up your views/engagements which can result in making more money. This comes off as what a liberal thinks a Republicans think liberals act like and she is playing it up.
Hot damn! I see all our conservative friends have progressed from emojis to full-throated gloating. Well, we deserve it. We gave y'all hefty doses of shit, so now it's your turn. I hope y'all keep an open mind as Trump embarks on his second term and require him to respect the Constitution and rule of law.
The way many of the libs are acting on social media reminds me of when my wife worked at the UF Law School back during the 2016 election. The meltdown in that place was classic after Trump won. I bet it was again this time as well. I mean they were walking around crying for a week. I had never seen anything like it. The way I grew up was you get your ass beat you get off the ground wash your face off and get back to work. I will say that I have not seen that meltdown from the lib posters here that showed back up after the election and I give them credit for at least realizing that life goes on.
I looked at it a couple of times. First time was a slight edge to Trump. Second had him 70something percent. Don’t remember what time, but it wasn’t late
She completely blew it this time. That being said her forecasts for Iowa were the most accurate in every presidential election going back to 2008. I posted composites of predictions from RCP for other elections in another post after her forecast was dropped. Going back even four years ago, she predicted that Trump would win that state by seven percent (he won by slightly over eight) while most of the other pollster had Trump ahead by one or two percent and one even picked Biden (all of those were within the margin of error).
They finally picked themselves up off the floor after two days. Truth be told…only heyitsme, city and Jo were hanging tough through it all. The rest were likely changing their dirty panties.
Been talking to friends and they say their daughter (or whoever) has been crying actual tears over all this. Why is that? I don't remember anyone crying and being distraught when Bush 1 or Clinton won. Are they not used to getting their way? Absolutely do not understand the motivation.
You’re buying the DNC hype about her poll. She is not the prototypical pollster who polls tens of thousands of voters each election cycle. They’re playing you, bro.
Very unhealthy to tie yourself to politics too closely. I can turn it on and off pretty quickly. News media is a big player in the drama imo.
