IMO it was the least worst option available. At worst just kicking the can down the road. Before the start of next season University needs to make the changes necessary to replace him if/when the need arises
I would feel better if we hadn't run 12 guys on a fg attempt at the end of the first half at UT. Shows another example of lack of preparation in game. Make that fg and I think we beat the Vols.
It may be the least worst option, but...I don't see how removing the pressure of coaching for his job will have any effect on CBN other than to revert to his low-urgency, we-just-need-to-execute-better self. And how does a major program like UF have to resort to using a walkon as the 3rd-string QB? That would be akin to not using an on-field coach as coordinator of one of the three on-field units. Oh. Wait...
My guy, it was an opinion based upon anecdotal evidence, as I already stated several times. It was not intended to imply that I did research.
Billy has done the worst job imaginable and will get a 4th year. I bet if we polled people when he was hired there would be zero that would have us here (record, no progress, bad recruiting). We are the new champions of life! I sincerely hope he turns it around. The odds are very long but sometimes the long shot underdog pulls it off.
And once again, how do you know this? He is probable to make the playoffs. Please tell me, great Kreskin, who is he going to coach?
From the transcript: "Billy Napier didn't get fired and he kept on working and his team never never quit on him and they've played some of their best ball that doesn't mean they've won every step of the way but they've played their best ball most recently they fought Georgia uh they went up there and fought Tennessee it's something to be proud of now I'm going to give you enough pat on the back that you deserve for that but merely being bought in is such an Overton Windows way to view this this so as much as you deserve credit for keeping your team bought in that's the minimum Baseline of what you have to do as a head coach of a major program uh Kirby's got his guys bought in deboer and Brian Kelly have their guys bought in everybody who matters has their guys bought in so you don't get a sticker you get a sticker If You're coaching on a volunteer basis and you keep your team bought in if you're getting paid what Billy Napier is getting paid they expect."
