But they would add so many extra seats for BIG or SEC fans. Isn't that a big selling point. It truly is amazing how our fans have continued supporting with butts in seats throughout this era.
Any adult men wearing jerseys to a sporting event as a spectator are tools IMO. Heck most of the videos out there of fans acting trashy have a common theme......men in jerseys. Sorry to offend anyone but that's just my opinion.
See how easy it is when you don't have to face SEC teams every week? Apples to Oranges, right? We don't need to strengthen our schedule with tough non-conference games.
Something about they suck so bad he had to stop wearing glitter all over his body, and he misses that feeling.
Unfortunately we are playing a schedule that was planned years ago with the 4 team playoff in mind and SOS was important. Now not as much.
My contention is that it really never was that important. A full SEC schedule plus FSU has always been enough.
The funniest/saddest part of this is that our schedule is harder than necessary because we had to play Miami but Miami's schedule is easier than expected because they got to play us.
I expected FSU to drop significantly with Travis gone, Verse and a few of the other D studs. I was thinking 7-5 / 8 - 4, given the soft schedule. But I never expected the bottom to drop out so precipitously. I thought them rolling the dice with DJU was a gamble but WOW, they are terrible at every position unit except Kicking, their FG guy is great. The offensive line was supposed to have 300 years of returning experience.........lol, They were expecting a good running game. Their defensive front was highly rated. Man O Man, that club is lost, I think they finally quit against UNC. That back ran for what? 265? They score what? 16 a game? lol This does suggest that being "Portal Dependent" can turn both ways, as the last few seasons suggest. It makes me nervous about UF's HS recruiting, cycle 4. Unless something changes and quickly this will be hands down CBNs worst class, and possibly the worst we have seen at UF in years. Myself I like the emphasis being on HS studs with the transfer portal to fill holes, not the other way around. The FSU experience does nothing but justify my concern.
Just like getting the top ranked recruiting class doesn't really help all that much right away, having an off year won't hurt right away. If the class ends up bad, you have a couple of years to fill vacant spots with portal guys before a lot of them would be playing anyways... That being said, with the latest announcement I expect the recruiting to pick back up again. Still will end up less than optimal IMO, but way better than 50th or wherever we're at right now.
Recruiting doesn't get better next year for a lame duck coach. See Clay Helton for this. One bad recruiting class turns into 2 at minimum, at which point you are a middle of the pack in the NCAA talent team and bottom of the pack SEC team, depending on the portal while your older, developed, more talented players get poached by the better teams since they need a money year for getting drafted. It's not just one poor year that can be papered over.
