For those of in the Gainesville area and Northern Florida: Operation Diamond Deck | Florida Victorious NOVEMBER 22ND 5 PM – 7 PM AT CONDRON FAMILY BALLPARK I saw this on a Instagram post by Jocey inviting Florida Gator Softball fans to meet her and her teammates before the Men’s Basketball team vs Southern Illinois. but I could not find post again. I found the above link on the Florida Victorious website. Activities: Meet your favorite Gator Student-Athletes (our Softball team) 360 Photo Booth Scavenger Hunt Raffle Prizes Food: Sonny’s BBQ by Gator Legend Shannon Snell Enjoy! I am hoping that this event is not a replacement for ‘First Pitch”, which I was so looking forward to attend with my brother Phil (72sb) before the season starts in February. We were planning to come down to Gainesville to meet the Team, the coaching staff, the training routines, and you fans, making a weekend of it. The event made Phil’s day (year) for the 2024 season.
Saw this and went to site. Only shows Kendra Falby and Reagan Walsh as softball on the Florida Victorious collective. Yet, under merchandise, it shows a Kara Hammock tee shirt. Can anyone clarify which players get extra benefits? Another thing I wonder about is scholarships. I’ve never seen anything published on this.
The 25 scholarship rule doesn’t go into affect until the 2026 season. This year, it is limited to the current 12 full scholarships.
I sent an email to Ryan Dunn, Florida Victorious, asking if the above mentioned event replaces the First Pitch event. I hope not. Focusing on just softball in First Pitch does more for Softball than a combined event with baseball. Besides, you can’t replace the one on one that you get with the coaching staff, support staff and the players like you get with an event like First Pitch. I pushed for the First Pitch. I hope they listen.
I received emails from both CTW and Ryan Dunn. The event above does not replace First Pitch. Fitch Pitch has yet to be scheduled. I’ve been assured that it will be before the 2025 Season.
It supposedly starts July 1, 2025. Hopefully they can give all the current players scholarships then.
Does anyone know scholarships are divided and who gets NIL money? Also, my take on the 25 scholarships is too many. Just think how hard it’s going to be too get playing time for our current 20 (wo)man roster. I foresee hoarding, broken promises, more transfers and a strain on facilities, coaches and costs. 18-20 should be more than enough.
There’s no requirement to use all the scholarships, but I see no real reason not to. Promise nothing but competition.
Two things that CTW holds high on his recruitment requirements, first recruit extremely talented players, secondly recruit extremely intelligent students who can acquire academic scholarships. Then CTW can divide the 12 scholarships between the 20 student-athletes. Our history has shown CTW has been successful in accomplishing this goal. To maintain this high of academic requirements, the program spends a lot of time with player time management and ensuring tutors assist the players in reaching their goals. The record speaks for itself. Many players have Masters in Sports Management, Business, now a one in Engineering (AK), the program has also graduated several PTs and OTs. The 25 proposed scholarships will go a long way to fill the gap and help CTW make better decisions. Also note, the most renown of all of CTW’s recruits was Stacey Nelson. She became a lawyer.
Nice post. No clue what in the world could be considered off-topic since we are currently overwhelmed by constant softball news. But, then again, I have been censored for providing information about our upcoming Gators so what do I know.
Welcome back! Stay here! We need you! Additional threads aren’t needed in MHO! Let’s keep everything “SOFTBALL” in one place so we don’t miss anything. All you guys and gals are great and I appreate your information and questions amid the dearth of media and Athletic Department provided coverage. .
Haven't gone anywhere. Nothing to say since, as usual, there is no information about the current team. You're relatively new here. You likely don't know that I spent two years providing constant updates on Taylor Shumaker and why she was our next superstar including somewhere around 20-30 videos proving my point. Much of this was in the midst of exploding softball news for UF and other places. Not once, and I repeat, not once did anyone ever complain I was confusing or distracting. I get the hint. Don't need a hammer.
Late to softball after women’s bball game won by Gators 102-67. Gators beat St Leo 22-0 in first five inning game. Korbe, Mia and Keagan with home runs. Game two just starting.
Great. And she hit a triple. She's done unbelievable and proves that additional surgery she had was needed. I will enjoy quoting a few people on here that said she can't play...will be fun!! Kara struggled a little tonight. Our other pitchers did well. Keagan hit a homerun, korbie hit one and Mia hit 2.
