Oh, so just R's think the economy is bad. Got it. Wonder why Hispanics broke hard for trump. Hmmmm... And while you wonder why trump won despite a "great" economy, the rest of us will be living in reality.
My guess is go softer on the issues that scare a lot of older voters. Trans issues do not need to be in the forefront. Bernie sanders is older than Biden. It’s time to go younger with candidates and ideas. I honestly think trump is the pendulum swinging back. The overall direction is still forward even if trump is a pull backwards.
Most of the young talent in the Democratic Party are of the progressive variety. Could they pivot to the center for political expediency purposes? Sure, that could happen, but it usually doesn't. Most governors and congresspeople stick with what got them there. Could they pivot ala Kamala once a general election hits? Yes, but as the internet grows, it becomes that much harder to distance oneself from things they said a few years earlier. The truth is Democratic voters will have to force that change in their party. Not likely to happen anytime soon, because the #1 staple of any progressive's diet is hatred for Donald Trump and as long as he is on the scene, that will remain #1 with their voters.
How do you explain that chart though? It seems that if youre republican you see the economy through the eyes of who is in the White House. You dont think its weird that all of the sudden you now think the economy is on the right track?
Hey bud. We tried to help you out by telling you the truth. By all means, Keep the defund the police, trans people in sports, pick your bathroom, DEI. Also please continue shitting on white Christian’s…by all means keep rolling out the next best pony based on how they look.
Be aware that the press focuses only on the crazy extremist views and position. Pictures of gay couple with children is fine. Pictures of a 6 ft 5 she male going to a woman’s room doesn’t work.
Polls had 70% saying country going wrong direction with Biden/camel. Nice way of saying what everyone politely posted.
The chart indicates that 72% of Americans think the economy is bad. If anything, it shows it's Dems who view it through the lenses of who's in office. The 5% who said the economy is great are obviously Dems, such as yourself lol.
Although the economy has been doing much better over the last two years that still doesn't negate the impact of the inflation of 2022. Prices were still over 20% higher than they were in 2020. Secondly, the perception of the state of the economy tends to lag the actual state of the economy. Carville made his statement that "it's the economy stupid" in 1992. 1992 was actually a very good year for the economy. Clinton won the 1992 election over George H.W Bush based in part on the perception of the economy as the result of the 1990 recession and the relatively slow recovery from said recession in 1991.
You can literally type anything you want... but you cant back it up. Your opinion is worthless to me. However, if you have some data, I will look at it.
If history is a guide the Democrats will swing back towards the center as the party did in 1976 and again in 1992 when the party nominated Southern governors or even 2008 when Barack Obama ran as a centrist rather to the left . If they decide to run the favorites for the 2028 nomination will probably be Andy Beshear who was elected to the governorship of a hard red state twice; Josh Shapiro who was elected to the governorship of a swing state; or Wes Moore the governor of Maryland a state that while it usually votes Democrat in presidential elections frequently elects Republican governors such as Larry Hogan who was elected to the governorship twice prior to Moore's election in 2022.
If you want data, read the NYT post mortem USMCNole posted. It has the focus group data that viewing the “Kamala is for they/them” ad moved the electorate towards Trump by nearly three points. It also confirms that the Trump campaign’s (winning) strategy was to paint Harris as being an unserious candidate because she was too liberal. It’s no skin off my back if you want to ignore that and keep doing what voters reject because no one polled “do you like Democrats saying that you’re stupid” as a focus group question (in fact I’d be more than happy to see Dems doubling down on that losing strategy), but the insistence that it can’t possibly be a factor because it didn’t show up in a public poll that never asked about it seems silly to say the least.
Back what up? Harris just got killed. Why did that happen? Racism/Sexism? People vote with their wallet. People can't afford groceries. It's that simple. But you keep thinking it is something else LOL.
You're absolutely correct and when there is a resurgence of inflation next year especially in the price of groceries there will be massive voter's remorse.
So we are just throwing out wild ass guesses now. IF there is inflation next year it will be all on trump. Simple as that.
