    The kiss of death. https://247sports.com/college/flori...eason-scott-stricklin-announcement-239325252/
I’m not sure this statement changes anything. We’ve seen this before. If it holds Gator football has hit a new low. It’s no longer necessary to win, competing is good enough. We are going to be in the same spot next year with a bad recruiting class on top. This announcement was strictly for recruiting but I will be surprised if it changes anything. Unless DJ lagway is a miracle man and stays healthy, we will be 5-7 or 6-6 next year. If Napier had a top recruiting class heading into November I would say maybe yes but how do you justify this given the situation?

Lol. Can't score over 20 on a team with a pulse and currently ranked 69th.

Tough to produce a top tier recruiting class when from the beginning of the season a good portion of the fan base was screaming for his dismissal. Now that recruits know he will be their coach next season, maybe he can salvage at least a respectable class to add

Lol. I love this excuse. It couldn't have been the product on the field the previous two seasons. Recruiting for this class was up an running at the end of season 2 and many of those kids were on a wait and see and they saw alright.

Model has changed so much with NIL and the portal. Give me experienced juniors and seniors over freshman that may not even contribute.

There's no guarantee a freshman stays on your roster for his sophomore season. Why put your financial resources into 17 and 18 year old kids that may not even contribute? Yes, you may get the exceptions like Lagway or Baugh, but for the most part, upper classmen get the playing time.

Norvell showed us why you still need a solid foundation of solid HS recruiting and development.

He also showed us that a good enough QB can save the job of a coach who sucks.

Right. Imagine if DJ does return next season and god forbid gets hurt again. That's a thin margin of error

If you have Ohio State money, you can do both. Most schools aren't spending $20M on NIL errrr player payroll.

Meh. They also held UGA to 13...so transitive property means UGA isn't very good.

I don't expect UF to compete with the likes of OSU etc in recruiting budgets, but they should be closer the top of the SEC and not the bottom with Vandy. If Napier can manage to flip some more recruits and get a solid class then props to him. Still don't see him as championship level coach.

BN will need to score big in the portal but I would think we will see few key players abandoning ship. His retention almost certainly means Lag stays and he will be hitting the ground running next year because of experience gained this year.
This move didn't surprise me and without a president SS was imo also looking out for himself. I do not believe this move would have been made without the improvement seen these last 3 games. Sent UT into overtime at their place, were very competitive against a good uga team. I am really hoping this team and coaches have turned to corner.

Simply suggesting that the Kentucky team we hung 6 TDs and 2 FGs on had a pulse

Bit of an outlier in his tenure, but sure he beat Kentucky. Woo hoo!
