I will stick to data and you stick to reading facebook posts. Again, more made-up narratives from the butthurt. The exit polls say it was the economy. Feel free to post something related to the OP which references Bernies call to action or get over to my facebook thread and post away.
I'm not sure you understand how exit polls work - it’s multiple choice polling, not an open-ended tell us what you think. The question you keep harping on was “which one of these five issues mattered most in deciding how you voted for President” and the choices were foreign policy, abortion, the economy, immigration, and the state of democracy.
We have the equivalence of Billy Napier relying on analytics in this thread with this adherence to exit polls lol. Yeah social media doesn't matter. People don't post their beliefs ever on it!
So now the polls are the gospel? Polls are just a piece of the puzzle. Let’s consider more data and we can deduce that libbies far left BS is what cost you.
Yes. That’s the purpose of the ad campaign, and it worked. But is it “the left” actually spending substantial mind share on these issues or is it the right CREATING the issue by passing bathroom bills or banning drag queen shows or whatever becomes the outrage du jour? My point is more it’s the right side of the isle constantly harping on those issues. It’s almost creepy obsessive from my pov. To me it just seems like your classic distraction. ‘We are taking care of those undesirables, pay no attention to the massive corruption behind the curtain’. Now you might be inclined to say “the left” does this with race issues, uses those to build outrage, and I wouldn’t argue otherwise. But what I see as different here is the right wing stuff generally involves attacking these people’s fundamental rights, there’s an ugliness to it. Never mind the insane levels of corruption that is likely certain to occur with this lawless person. You are generally a serious person/poster, are you not concerned it won’t be reigned back in once the geenie is out of the bottle???
Of course it's the economy and other issues. However, for trump to win the popular vote, some things had to happen. And that is turn out from voters that typically don't vote, or voted dem. Either that or dem voters didn't turn out for harris. Either way, the narratives that people have are explaining the result. It's too simplistic to say that it's just what Bernie Sanders says.
You just made that up. There are several types. For instance the CNN's is done by Edison Research for the National Election Pool which is done by humans standing outside the polls and talking to people - they dont click anything. Thier's was "what was the most important issue to you" and the pollster puts it into a category that included gun rights, lgbt, etc... including "other".
Today I got an advertisement for a vaginal anti-rape penis barb lock that requires emergency surgery. I need to clear my cookies.
Maybe I don't understand what people mean when they talk about Trump's "populism," especially relative to Democrats. I guess I used to think of it being about specific economic policies which help the middle class, but I wonder if maybe I'm using it wrong. Whether one agrees or disagrees with them, Democrats have supported things such as the Affordable Care Act; infrastructure projects and related jobs; paid family leave; minimum wage increases; negotiating prescription drug prices; letting tax cuts for those at the top expire, etc. Trump has pledged to destroy the ACA with no plan to replace it (while his running mate claimed Trump should get credit for saving it). Trump has floated substituting regressive tariffs for income taxes. He has directly told groups of rich people that he's going to cut their taxes. Are these things populist? Also, one of the biggest knocks on Democrats has been inflation. I'm not sure how Bernie would have fared better if that was the concern. One particular issue Bernie has talked about forever that I think might appeal to both sides would be something like addressing money in politics and lobbying, but the Court isn't going to budge on that.
Wrong. Here’s CNN’s: https://www.cnn.com/election/2024/exit-polls/national-results/general/president/0 Here’s NBC’s posting of the same thing: National Exit Polls: Election 2024 Results Notice they’re both the exact 5 categories I told you, and NBC even shows the exact wording of the question.
Can you link? As @GatorBen mentions above,CNN and NBC seem to be the exact same and "woke" topics were not an option.
Every single poll regardless of who has done it... economy... regardless of which method... regardless of number of choices. Simply show me a single poll or research point that says "Wokeism" played a role. I havent seen one. Without any data its just a narrative. I can show you dozens pointing to economy. I'll stop at three.
