Anyone else think the Republicans will immediately change the filibuster rule?

I mean, you say “yiu cannot uncross the Rubicon.” Trump just showed us that there are no “cannots” anymore when it comes to politics.

I don’t agree that it was a “risk” at all and definitely disagree that it was not worth it. The filibuster is anti democratic and abused by both parties stop votes from happening. It’s not even what it used to be because you don’t even have to debate continuously…. One senator Just has to say the word “filibuster” and a vote is likely dead. It should be done away with. My complaint is that democrats didn’t do it first and get the leg up while they could…

Yes, historically the pendulum swings back and forth. However it is a bit of an assumption at this point that the D power will be back in control. Even if they are eventually, the gop will want to make as much hay as they can; making it nearly impossible for the D's to reverse any of it if/when they regain power.

I think they probably will, unless Trump just starts doing whatever he wants regardless of congressional approval.

I’m not so sure. If Trump does what he threatened to do, and then results are unpopular, the next cycle will bring radical change, with potentially the polar opposite radical leader (AOC is quietly a pretty happy woman with her potential opportunity if things go sour under Trump)
