Nah. Your alternative facts aren't true just because the country elected your convicted felon, sexual assaulter who also tried to criminally overturn an election.

I can still legitimately "dislike" your TDS driven hate. Be careful to remember ..... we are all sinners.

We can mock it, but social media causes permanent brain damage. I’ve long likened it to drug addiction.

The impact of the digital revolution
on human brain and behavior: where
do we stand?
 - PMC.

I’ve casually discussed this with people, doctors and pharmacists who are taken aback by some of their colleagues inability to think (basically any time they have to go “off script” and solve something) - they describe it as like they have ADHD which is crazy to think of in what everyone would consider fields for the top 10% or 20%.

It’s hard to even fathom people who’ve grown up only in the social media world, but more and more people will be entering careers who were born in the 00’s.

We need a thread titled "MAGA tries to re-write reality." Because....

In this thread, serial adultery, sexual assault, and grabbing women's privates without permission are all OK, because........."we are all sinners."

Oh, and we shouldn't bring up those things either (at least about our Great Leader), because, like....we're all guilty of them too.

Also - don't bring up OJ decapitating two people with a bowie knife. We're all sinners and we all cut people's heads off with a knife. No difference.

Turnout is about the same. When all the votes are counted they will be about the same number. There are millions left to count including about 10M in California. It was 66% vs 67%. There are maybe 1-2M people fewer and they are probably dead due to covid.

Voter turnout in 2024: Map shows how they compare by state - The Washington Post

Voter turnout in this year’s presidential election is expected to be close to the record high set in 2020, according to a Washington Post analysis of data from the Associated Press and the University of Florida Election Lab.

You are ignoring that Harris was +6 from white voters. Overall turnout was down for only one person.

Your analysis also ignores growth in Latino voters. It's not just party switchers but a lot of new voters.

But yes, it was just because of "low turnout"

    HA!

Wait. You think i am on the left?

You think I havent called out the Clinton mafia for their garbage?

I voted straight R on my ballot.

I wrote in Haley for Potus and didnt vote for either of NC's terrible candidates for governor.

But forgive me for expecting the side of good to be a shining light and better than the other guys. Forgive me if I dont want to crawl into the mud to fight them.

We need to be better. And I will call out my own side much louder than the other side. Just like I am tougher on my own kids than I am on someone elses.

Liberalism has continued to go further off the rails and I relish in Its defeat, but Trump is still a horrible human being.

You’ve seen enough man on the street interviews to acknowledge that she is correct for a good portion of us. We need baristas (I don’t) and food delivery drivers (I don’t) and pet walkers (I don’t), though, so I guess we can acquiesce to the status quo.

Someone doesn't know what voter turnout means. HA! (?)

Voter turnout measures the percentage of voters that have actually taken part in the election (proportion of eligible voters who actually cast a vote).

Anecdotally: a client forwarded texts he received from a former customer of his yesterday--filled with all kinds of profanity and border line threatening language referencing his family. Very dark and inappropriate stuff.

Raging, seething, angry dem (>40, single, live with [read off of] mommy) loser. I called the guy to try to talk him down, but haven't heard back.

    Disturbing as hell.

    Wait, what?

You call out your own side? Like when they publicly lie to enable the criminality of rioters participating in an attack on our government, led by Trump, in order to deny the transition of power?

    - House Speaker Mike Johnson is trying out some new language to describe the riotous mob that swarmed the U.S. Capitol on January 6: innocent Americans that were just there, “walking through the building.”

Johnson said, referring to tapes of the insurrection. “Originally we were trying to blur some of the faces to protect the innocent, you know, people who were there and just happened to be walking through the building.”

You really held those guys to account! Called them out pretty good.

It will never cease to amaze me how people can acknowledge the moral bankruptcy, if not the un-American criminality, of Donald Trump........but they vote for the precise people who enable him, who prevent him from any and all sort of accountability. And they tell themselves that they didn't support Trump.

NB: many Christians affiliate with the GOP (similarly, many also affiliate with the Dem party); but the GOP is not the, nor even a, Christian party. Ditto Dem party.

If Christians vote for a particular candy, it's more often than not, scarcely determined according to his faith, though often times, and preferably, they (we) go with candies who's policies and platforms and reputation, suggest a greater liklihood to be more consistent with their (our) faith.

Eg: for many Catholics, very high on the list, is a candy's position v/v abortion (sanctity of human life). Hence a candy with a checkered past (say a DUI, arrest for doobage, perhapa even adultery) but solid on pro-life issues, will likely be more compelling to them, than an Eagle Scout who disdains the lives of the unborn, and freely champions unrestricted right to abortion.

    C'est la vie.

But to be fair, the other side reacted rather poorly when they lost 4 years ago.

Politics incite deep and engrained emotions. Many people convince themselves, after a long, torturous and enveloped process spanning over a year, that their candidate is the greatest option, and the other choice is a threat to human existence (heck,Trump campaigned on this message).

Sure, some people take it too far. But it happens every election.

Which is why I prefaced it with "anecdotally", and offered no conclusion or inference to be drawn from it, or extrapolated to a larger scale, other than to say that that particular episode, was/is disturbing as hell (it's always disturbing as hell, when unhinged/ angry ppl even mention family).

    Especially to my client's family.

i shated it for perspective--mainly, don't be that guy--secondarily, be mindful that some ppl are, apparently, actually, losing their actual shit over the election (ie maybe it was just the one guy... but one dudes losing his shit, might be others).
