At the rate Trump was building his border fence, it will only take him 340 more years (and several trillion dollars) to complete it. Then it will take Mexicans another hour or two to complete their tunnels under it, or throw ladders over it. No one ever said that the average republican was a genius.

There has to be a southern democrat governor who is at least semi-qualified to be president.

It's not about what you say, it's what you do. Trump says a lot of stupid things. But he has the perception of delivering what he promised in his campaign. The Dems didn't, they said a lot of shit and lectured people about things that no one gives a shit about.

This isn't about Trump, it's about the Democrats being completely inept. The world is on fire because of their stupidity. They thought they could hide away while Putin invaded Europe, Israel under attack, inflation going crazy and saying shit like democracy is at stake when you force a sitting president out of running by party elites and use party DAs to charge a former president so you can get him disqualified to run.

That is why the Dems lost. What the **** do they even represent anymore? Hard to find something to vote for. Trump isn't good, but the Dems have a lot to figure out. They lost big-time to an old boomer billionaire that says stupid shit. Lol. The Dems need to actually do some ground game around the country, they don't even know their own people anymore...

This country is so divided that I doubt it will ever change. After almost dying this year, my priorities changed. Leave my Medicare and Social Security alone and I’ll sit quietly in the background.

Because Harris lost every single state in the south, from Oklahoma south and eastward. Virginia is the only state south of Maryland and east of Colorado that Harris won.

A governor has more experience working with both sides of an issue because they have to. Senators, especially ones in highly polarized states, simply have to energize their constituents enough that they vote. When Harris was asked what she would do differently, she responded with a blank stare and "nothing". A governor would not have had the same response.

How do you think the democrats did in resolving Covid compared to the republicans (Trump)? And what do you think the cause of the inflation was, Covid spending to save American lives, or Trump's tax cuts for corporations?

Neither did much except pass bipartisan bills to big pharma. Dems tried to lockdown people, incredibly stupid.

Inflation was mostly COVID spending, and it was global, not just a US problem. It's partly why we are so many conflicts around the world right now. Economic forces start wars.

The tax cuts were necessary for the US to be competitive globally. The problem the US has is complex. The Dems use that as a campaign slogan, but in reality they have kept it because its required to keep intellectual property and corporation hqs here in the US. Labor is a problem, since labor can be done overseas while the US protects the business intellectual property. Total BS. Trump is right here, the problem is there needs to be laws put in place to keep corporations from playing the game.

As far as inflation, the road has been set to a reset of global currency. Regardless of Trump or Kamala won, the interest rates will go down, the US will refinance its debt and spend trillions to boost economic activity. As long as the balance of good and services = supply and demand, inflation should remain low. That's what we saw in 2017-2021. Lots of $ to be made in the next few years if you invest correctly.

Trump's tariffs, if he is successful in getting them passed, will jack up the costs of foreign-made goods for American consumers, leading to its own kind of inflation, especially if Trump is as aggressive as he says he is. I think you are right, that investors may do well under Trump, while most of Trump's voters will not. The middle class generally does not do much with the stock market, other than what they put into their 401k's, if they have one.

Tarriffs are not inflationary. Price will go up yes, but prices are not inflation. Inflation has more to do with currency.

And most of the tarriffs are bargaining chips. Usually the threat of one brings discussion with business and foreign govts.

And most products from overseas are made there and imported because a) cheap labor or b) regulatory issues in manufacturing. "b)" can be solved easily, and "a)" will be less of a factor in the future with automated labor. After COVID, its very clear it's a national security issue to have certain product only sourced overseas. Right now, all antibiotics in the US are made in China or India. Not smart...

An across-the-board 20% tariff combined with a 60% tariff on China would drive inflation and negatively impact the S&P 500. However, this is mostly academic. Trump may consider tariffs on select items, but an across-the-board approach seems unlikely—it’s more of a glib campaign comment than a serious policy proposal.

Oh. Another opinion when the overriding response people gave was economy. I am sorry your feelings are hurt. Republicans can, at the same time, be infected with a large group of deplorables and people mad at egg prices. It was a winning combination.

It's "nazi-like, deplorable, garbage, fascists". If you going to characterize republicans and anti-progressives .... at least you can be accurate.

What you post is overwhelmingly a combination of opinion/misrepresentation/selective data/ outright lies much more than FACTS.
