Probably the sixth time I've said it. No Democrat could have beaten Trump and any other Republican would have won by a larger margin. It wasn't the candidate or how the campaign was run that made the difference. As James Carville said 32 years ago (changing the tense) "It was the economy stupid". The one metric that determined the result of the election was the difference in prices between 2020 and 2024. Somewhat anecdotal based on interviews, multiple voters who said that they were voting for Trump gave the rationale that prices were stable when he was in office and they increased significantly under Biden. A number of them also said that Trump was a businessman who knew how to run the economy.

Dude supports a traitor who incited people to attack our Capitol Building and beat the crap out of hundreds of police, while the (sitting President) traitor stood and watched for hours.....

......and here he is like a little girl at her first party; "OMG, it's so WILD how they're typing things on FaceBook!!!! Wow!!!!"

You don't have any liberal friends or family? What a strange thing to crow about. Enjoy your echo chamber. I know today feels good, but you might want to get out of your bubble at some point. There are literally tens of millions of pretty fantastic conservatives AND liberals out there.

I would disagree. I think a normie Democrat could have beaten Trump. If they had had a last minute, crazy primary and got Shapiro or Kaine, they probably would have been able to break with the Biden Admin and offered an alternative vision to swing voters. I think that most swing voters did not really know who Harris was/is and went with the known figure in Trump.

Possibly but she had 5% of the democratic primary in 2020 and was trending down considerably at the end. 5th out of 6 candidates. You don't think that had anything to do with it? I think there were plenty of Republicans willing to vote for someone other than Trump if given a viable option.

As crazy as 15 million votes missing?
2016: Approximately 65.8 million votes for Hillary Clinton.
2020: Approximately 81.3 million votes for Joe Biden.
2024: Approximately 66.4 million votes for Kamala Harris, as per the latest reports up to November 6, 2024.

Maybe, if the normie Democrat could have successfully differentiated a policy that he would have pursued over the last four years from that of Biden. The problem that either of them would have had would have been trying run on a policies that they would have hypothetically pursued. They could have also alienated some Democratic voters by appearing to have thrown Biden under the bus. While I want to make it clear that I disagree with the rationale the party and the hypothetical candidate would been bashed by lefties for rejecting a woman of color who by virtue of her position as vice president should have been next in line. While those voters wouldn't have voted for Trump they could have ended up staying home or voting third party like a number of supporters of Bernie Sanders did in 2016.

Most of them probably stayed home with a few voting third party. Remember Trump received over 75 million votes when he lost and just under 72 million when he won. Where did those 3 million+ go?
